Junk food delivery..bring Cheetos instead.
The Times-News Online: Twin Falls, ID — Apparently the fat content of whole milk makes it a “junk” food by the standards of these jerk-offs. But real junk food is OK.
CHICAGO (AP) — Cartons of whole milk would be considered junk food, but baked Cheetos would not, under new rules proposed Friday by Illinois education officials.
II agree… something is really off here. But it is a good reminder that whole milk is not the greatest food in the world.
Guys like this in my state, went against the wishes of nearly every parent in the state and allowed elementary school kids to choose Coke or Pepsi during school breakfast, even though there is tax support for the healthy milk and orange juice that they sell at a lower price. Profit at the expense of children’s health, that’s the American way. (the guys that got busted for feeding radioactive particles to retarded children had to find work somewhere I suppose.)
Hmmm Interesting, but whaddayagonnado? If the definition of “junk food” is high-fat, high-calorie, and whole milk is high-fat, high calorie, who’s to say they’re wrong? Would it kill them to provide 2% milk instead? And if BAKED cheetos don’t fit the definition, , oh well.
I admit it’s somewhat counterintuitive. But apparently parents’ notions of how to keep their kids fit and trim aren’t working out too well already, based on the proliferation of fat kids. So if replacing high-fat whole milk and high fat potato chips with 2% or skim milk (or juice or water) and low-fat baked chips, who’s to say that’s a bad thing?
I would think the kids would need the fat from the whole milk to burn off while running around outside. Or have the schools cancelled recess in fear of any lawsuits that may be flung upon them by parents due to minor childhood injuries on the playground?
I miss the good old days when I could drink my whole milk and any broken bones I got on the playground were my own damn fault.
I think whole milk is already banned in California. Not just in schools, but at grocery stores too. Someone thought it was too unhealthy, and insisted on a certain amount of concentrate to bulk it up.
Bah. Go on a low carb diet. You can’t drink milk, you have to drink heavy whipping cream. 🙂
“You may be surprised to learn that most of the human beings that live on planet Earth today do not drink or use cow’s milk. Further, most of them can’t drink milk because it makes them ill.”

Are you all brainwashed to think that “fat” = bad?
The fat we shouldn’t be eating are the crappy Canola oils and the hydrogenated ones. The fat we SHOULD consume are the good ones….cheese, milk, butter, olive oil, meat. It’s not eating fat that is the problem, it’s ONLY eating fats, oils, and processed foods. Eat a well rounded diet (fruits, veges, grains and meats) and forget this happy horseshit about low fat diets.

AC, no, whole milk is not “banned” in California. You can even buy RAW milk in California, legally (unlike many states).
Not quite what I heard but according to a Cal government website,
From the nutritionist’s standpoint, California’s fluid milk standard is healthier
