MANSFIELD — A school bus driver accused of brandishing a knife and threatening three sixth-graders with cutting their wrists for leaving cookie crumbs on a seat has been arrested. William Allen, 66, was taken into custody Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Mansfield school district police confiscated a pocket knife with a 2-inch blade from Allen. He was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, said Terry Morawski, a Mansfield school district spokesman.

Two of the three students told their parents that Allen took them out of the bus Wednesday at Mary Orr Intermediate School. They said he threatened to cut their wrists with the knife if they didn’t admit to eating Oreo cookies and leaving crumbs behind, according to police reports. Allen has been released from the Tarrant County Jail. Online jail records did not show if he had an attorney. Attempts to reach him at home were not immediately successful Saturday night. Two of the parents say district officials told them Allen was a good employee and referred to the incident as similar to a “grandfather joking about cutting your ears off if you don’t knock it off,” the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Saturday.

“Had the roles been reversed, my daughter would have been taken into custody right away,” said Kendra Hill-Foreman. “I don’t care how good of an employee he is, he traumatized those girls.”

In my neighborhood, the kids would have taken him on.

  2. Reminds me of a wrestler , with an anger problem , getting a job as a bus driver

  3. RTaylor says:

I wonder how many of us could get through a month with that job without cracking?

  4. bobbo says:

The real crime: 66 yo bus driver. Cheap though.

  5. amodedoma says:

Yeah, right, poor little 6th graders. Sounds to me like another case of rotten lying little brats making acusations that only other rotten lying little brats have witnessed and can confirm. Certainly doesn’t sound like the bus driver’s gonna get a fair shake. Hell he’s staying low to avoid the media circus that these kids have caused. What a load of crap. They ought to use lie detectors in these cases, at least before they go for international blog distribution. This is BULLSHIT!

  6. bobbo says:

#5–ammarammadingdong==lets see, do I have enough fingers to count how many errors there are in your post?
Why, yes I do. (At least 8 with only a quick review.)

What a silly person you are. I make a vulgar gesture in your general direction!

  7. Brad Eleven says:

You get what you pay for… and we all get what we tolerate.

  8. Zybch says:

Little bitches shouldn’t have been messing up the damn bus. So, when they get told off by an annoyed driver (whos probably gonna have to clean up their shit) they make up this bullshit safe in the knowledge that no matter what they say its them that will be believed rather than the adult.

  9. amodedoma says:

    bobo,

The alternative is to take this one sided story and start believing that the world is full of dangerous senior citizens. This story doesn’t give any data whatsoever about the driver, how long has he been driving school bus, does he have a criminal record, etc… I’ve taught 6th graders and adolescense makes idiots of them all, if I have to choose between two improbable stories, with a total lack of background info, I go with my own experience and doubt the brats. But you go ahead and enjoy this micromelodrama if you like.

    1. The alternative is to hold judgment until more facts are received. Certainly an assumption the multiple alleged victims are lying is worse.

    2. How can the story be one sided when they quote school officials basically admitting to the deed?

    3. Your requested additional data is irrelevant to the claim, but he must have some years service in order to be judged “a good employee?”

Well, your attempted defense really only shows the weakness of your analysis and the depth of your burn out. You remain a silly person. Better as you reporst rationally, but still very silly.

  11. Mr Truther says:

All of our school buses have cameras now because of these kinds of incidents. Our driver would not haul any more of these spoiled brats with out evidence of what they were doing. It has shut up more then one “parent” when the tape was shown.

  12. Ghost says:

“Lets put a smile on that face”.

  13. a bus driver says:

What amodedoma said is closest to the truth. The kids will make stuff up to get back at the driver. And yes the kids are the ones that are usually believed. It is a load of crap, but that is what goes on.

  14. deowll says:

I think it’s past time this guy retired but for some reason, most likely sanity, most people don’t want this job.

It is hard to get bus drivers. It is not easy to do this job right and the hardest part of it is the pay scale and the way kids and their parents act.

God bless all the good bus drivers.

  15. The Monster's Lawyer says:

Those damn kids have been trampling on my lawn for near-on ten years. It’s about time someone gave them a little gruff.
You damn kids get off my lawn!
    Little whippersnappers!
