Regarding the “timeslice” of Bush before the softball game, some intrepid viewers noticed that all the players are wearing the number 43 (GWB is the 43rd president).

Regarding the dour faces “slice”, I thought it would be a perfect illustration to this quote from today’s LA Times discussing the horrendous speech given by the Bush twins:
“The strategy Tuesday, apparently, was to have sisters Jenna and Barbara humanize and soften the grim-faced Politburo image that dogs the Bush-Cheney campaign, which hasn’t made much of an effort to court those young Americans who call it a good day if they’ve remembered to TiVo “The Simple Life.”

“grim-face Politburo”? I think the writer was checking out Dvorak’s blog.
The Bush girls’ speech was dreadful. And does anyone ever point out that Jenna sounds as if she’s been smoking and drinking for decades. Selma on the Simpson’s has a less gravelly voice.
