Take Action: God is Not a Republican. Or a Democrat.

“It is the responsibility of every political conservative, every evangelical Christian, every pro-life Catholic, every traditional Jew…to get serious about re-electing President Bush.”
– Jerry Falwell, The New York Times, July 16, 2004

“I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe I’m hearing from the Lord it’s going to be like a blowout election in 2004. The Lord has just blessed him…. It doesn’t make any difference what he does, good or bad.”
– Pat Robertson, AP/Fox News, January 2, 2004

Two letters from a semi-conservative, mostly- evangelical Christian:

    Dear President Bush,

I will happily vote for you in the coming election if, in addition to all those tech jobs, you find a way to also offshore the positions currently held by Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

    Dear Senator Kerry,

You may be aware that Pat Robertson has said that God told him you aren’t going to win the election. You may or may not also be aware that in the very Old Testament from which Robertson preaches there are pretty clear directions on what to do with someone who puts words in God’s mouth and ends up being wrong. Maybe you won’t win this election, but if you do, please look into Old Testament punishments for “false prophets.” It’s not too late to turn this into the focus of your campaign. I know plenty of Christians who would vote for you if you could find a way to shut up Pat.
