Wonkette operative hero “Dan the Man” sent us a powerful/artistic photo yesterday of a bunch of Christian nuts praying over a false bronze idol, the Wall Street Bull (or Bowling Green Bull for you dandies out there), asking God to nationalize the economy under the state of heaven so that they could pay for their porn subscriptions and fried NASCAR-themed dildos for a few more months.

Well, “Dan” has come through again and sent us a video and a few more hilarious photos, such as the one above featuring, whoa, is that the Regina of Phoenician-Based Symbols Created To Represent Sounds, Madam Peggy Noonan of the Wall Street Journalshire? Scandal!

They consoled each other after they realized that they were just as poor as they had been after praying to the bull as before. Do they know that this bull is an Artistic Joke that actually mocks the greed of those who come to worship it? That is not a question worth asking.

Here’s Meghan leading a paean to this “America” she supposedly wants God to nationalize. Run around the bull with those flags three times, kids, and the bull’s eyes will glow emerald green; it will snarl, utter a gutteral, ancient demon roar, “RRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRR,” and fucking kill all of you with nose-fire. Do not anger this sleeping monster.

Ghostbusters rules!

  1. Dallas says:

Hey, we need all the help we can get!

Instead of praying for death to gays (DTG), they should be directing all that energy to praying for a better economy.

When the economy shows signs of health, they can go back to DTG and earthquakes for Las Vegas.

  2. JimD says:

Wonder what the FALSE GOD, BRONZE IDOL IS WORTH ON THE ***SCRAP METALS MARKET*** ???

  3. iamanasshole says:

These holy rolling jack asses are so fucked up it’t not even funny.

oooga booga mumbo jumbo blah, blah, blah.

  4. Personality says:

Hey! Leave NASCAR out of this. It is more mainstream now. Not just for the thumpers anymore.

  5. mthrnite says:

Would kind editor please insert bunny with pancake on it’s head at the end of the article. Maybe it’s just this hellish cold I’ve got, but none of that made any sense to me at all.

You guys really need to get out of the coastal cities more. White trash hicks and devout Christians are mostly mutually exclusive sets in small towns, from what I have seen. Maybe they look the same from so far out, but not everyone who is different than is the same.

Also, where did this hateful bigoted tirade come from? I cannot even tell what is going on in this picture. I see two people touching it and someone else taking pictures. Next time you want to bash Christians, just go ahead. From your comments you don’t really need a good excuse – you can just make up 99% based on your prejudices. For all we know, these guys are from Obama’s church praying for God to damn America for her greed.

    #6,

No… This story is totally legit. Because of the economic crisis, evangelicals showed up to pray at the wall street bull… Which has a sort of golden hue to it.

So not only do the public praying evangelicals lack any sort of humility about their spirituality, they also have failed to develop a sense of irony…

Its also as if they have never actually read the bible and had a discussion about it in context. This right here is the culmination of Perkels criticisms of what has become of Christianity in North America. They have willfully and self destructively detached themselves from any recognition of objective reality.

That picture right there is absolute proof that Christianity as practiced in North America is maladaptive.

  9. amodedoma says:

No Jesus freaks I know would even dream of breaking the second commandment. They might call themselves christians but they certainly aren’t following the most basic of christian beliefs.

  10. Sea Lawyer says:

#8, well they certainly can’t be any more harmful than the people who saw an AD-AS graph one time and thus believe they are economists and don’t mind sharing their opinions about what the solutions are.

  11. jbenson2 says:

Not much difference between these folks and the Obamamaniacs who fervently believe that if THE ONE is elected, the slums will soon be a memory. We will turn our prisons into factories and our jails into storehouses and corn cribs. Men will walk upright now, women will smile and the children will laugh again.

  12. GregA says:

    #11,

Not much differnt, but it is a little different.

As opposed to McCain who said on the day that corporate paper busted a buck, as a matter of faith, “The fundamentals of the economy are sound.”

That actually reminded me of a sunny September day 7 years ago when a president read a book to school children.

actually you need to go to an east coast city.

from the farm, we might look all alike but here in the big city we have hundreds of religions, cultures, languages, ethnicities, etc. we even have evangelicals and oh boy, do we have white trash!

and for the most part we get along just fine, thank you.

and far from being elitist, we maintain that social cohesion by engaging in humility and respect for others.

if you listen to the conservative media, it is conservatives who call us nasty names every freakin’ day and belittle our values, like multiculturalism, openness, social welfare, etc.

finally, i would point out that i don’t go door to door trying to convert people to my religion calling people sinners, shouting “god hates fags” at military funerals, and frankly given the rude things that have been said to me personally over the years by street corner preachers and evangelicals, i feel well within my rights to poke fun at them.

i call the cops on them. they’re annoying. and they do, actually, physically thump their hands on their bibles. so there you go.

i am christian who knows how to mind his own business, and i approve this message.

    [Well said. – ed.]

    #15 – Grog

    God bless ya.

  17. Matt Garrett says:

I don’t think they’re praying TO the bull, but praying OVER the bull. And this just shows the absolutely ignorance, and bigotry, of “dvorak.org/blog” that they’d rather criticize people of faith, rather then understand them.

  18. Special Ed says:

#17 – Agreed! There is no way to understand them wasting time praying OVER the statue of a bull. I wouldn’t ask you to understand why we criticize these people for wasting their time. It would have been just as effective to have them pray over a parking meter or manhole cover. Talk about ignorance…

  19. ECA says:

I find it interesting that MAN is trying to get GOD to intervene in a relationship between MAN and MAN..
WE, built this nation, and GOD has little to do about it..
    WHO can fix it?? YOU!!

    Vote for howard the Duck,
you KNOW he wont Duck up.

  20. Robyn says:

Is it just me, or does this pic resemble that scene in “The Ten Commandments” where Heston comes down from talking to God to find Edward G. Robinson has gotten everybody sexed up over a golden calf?

  21. QB says:

    # 17 Matt Garrett said “I don’t think they’re praying TO the bull, but praying OVER the bull.”

Correct prepositions make all the difference. It’s suddenly sane and rational.

  22. god says:

Praying is sane and rational? Har!

  23. Mr. Fusion says:

    #22, god,

Right. Why are they praying? Isn’t that more than a little presumptuous? If this is what god planned, then who the heck are you to question him?

And everybody knows you don’t pray over the bull, you pray about what came out of the bull.

  24. Judge Jewdy says:

Where is the high-pressure water hose?

  25. Someone says:

    Hmmm… A golden calf.

    These guys _are_ old school.
