#15 Padded-o: I guess your 1881 steam powered stereo with the groovy gas lamps and coal shute didn’t have the right inputs to connect to 1981 hardware, but even the preamp/power amp I built in the late 60’s had RCA jacks.

I remember back in 1980 when MTV first started they only had 100 videos and they played them over and over and over again. 10cc was a horrible british band but through sheer playrepitition they actually sold albums because of MTV. Same goes for the buggles.
