There ain’t nothing funny about wacky-tabacky when the guys with guns kick in your door and make a beeline for your pot garden. Especially when the weed farm is next door.
[Jeremy]Gardea and about 30 neighbors who echo his complaints say Alan MacFarlane’s annual marijuana crop creates an unholy stench in the neighborhood off West Third Street near Dutton Avenue, causes noise disturbances related to motion alarms and raises the risk of criminal activity.
That risk is underscored by the number of home-invasion robberies tied to marijuana gardens, including one this month in which three robbers wearing clothing to impersonate law enforcement officials burst into a Todd Road home, handcuffed two residents and fled with 30 marijuana plants.
Gardea said reading about that case was one reason he decided to erect a sign outside his home stating, “Please don’t pull a home invasion here. Indoor buds are next door at #116. See Alan.”
“When your kids are getting a contact high and you read about home invasions in the city,” Gardea said, “hell yeah, I’ll put that sign up if it’s going to protect my kids.”
Like Amsterdam and Zurich, California is learning the hard way that legalization and availability increase crime, not deter it.
#97 “As for shooting two people? No remorse?”
It was while hunting in a different part of the State. Stumbled on a huge pot farm. Couple of guys opened up with shot guns. Being stupid druggies they didn’t know the range and I was carrying a .30 cal. Just got both in the leg and used the rest of the rounds to total their pick up truck.
No remorse. It was a public service.
#69 peedrool – I asked for some substantiated proof of MJ being addictive and you think that disregarding the request is a good argument?
Put up or STFU.
#103, Counselor,
Sure he does. Why not, trolls like peedrool prefer to just spout off without having to do any actual thinking. Typical right wing nut.
#104
Wait a minute…you’re a right winger now?
#101, Cow-Paddy, Ignorant Shit Talker,
For some reason I doubt I am the only person that thinks your story is bull. Oopps, that is your name !!!
Anyone with the brains to operate a shot gun would know the relative range. They would also know that shot guns are for close in work. IF, and notice I capitalized the IF for emphasis, they fired in your direction it would have been a warning shot, not an attempt to hit you.
You shot both of them in the legs. OK, I’m not sure where you learned that trick, but that was stupid. They are still armed, you don’t know if they have an accomplice with a high powered rifle, and you are outside shotgun range so it must have been at least 75 yards. Pot grows fast and it grows tall; during the fall (hunting season) it would have been seven feet tall, some varieties closer to ten.
You would have to be an expert shot to hit two people in the legs from that distance during a situation where they are shooting at you.
Since your other post I recall was when you pulled a handgun on some big bad boys that were hassling you and your date. Oh ya, that act scared them off. Nope, no mention of actually shooting anyone.
Nope, Cow-Paddy, this one is just more of your cow dung. Remember, when you’re in a hole, quit digging.
#106 Mr. Fusion – I like his stories. He would make a good fiction writer. Maybe if westerns come back in vogue he can write some for a series.
Hi-Ho PaddyHo!
#106 “Nope, no mention of actually shooting anyone. ”
Correct. Because I didn’t shoot at that time.
And you’re point?
#109 Thanks pedro, but in the case of one of our posters being addicted I give the info gratis.
Here ya go Monster’s Lawyer. Let us know how the trial goes.

#110 PaddyHo – Thanks for the propaganda page.
I still haven’t read where MJ is chemically addictive. From the Q&A part:
Q: Can people become addicted to marijuana?
The answer seemed to imply a psychological dependence and not a chemical dependence. The real question is, “Is THC addictive?” which is still debatable.
As for the website, I like the information but I have to weigh it against it’s source, the US Guberment.
Again thanks.
#111 – I wasn’t commenting on how it was addictive, only giving you a way out of your addiction.
Your welcome.
#109 peedrool – See how that worked? From now on you need to clear your posts through PaddyHo before submitting.
Cow-Paddy, Ignorant Shit Talker and Sociopath,
When human subjects were administered daily oral doses of 180-210 mg of THC – the equivalent of 15-20 joints per day – abrupt cessation produced adverse symptoms, including disturbed sleep, restlessness, nausea, decreased appetite, and sweating. The authors interpreted these symptoms as evidence of physical dependence. However, they noted the syndrome’s relatively mild nature and remained skeptical of its occurrence when marijuana is consumed in usual doses and situations. Indeed, when humans are allowed to control consumption, even high doses are not followed by adverse withdrawal symptoms.
…
The most avid publicizers of marijuana’s addictive nature are treatment providers who, in recent years, have increasingly admitted insured marijuana users to their programs. The increasing use of drug-detection technologies in the workplace, schools and elsewhere has also produced a group of marijuana users who identify themselves as “addicts” in order to receive treatment instead of punishment.
