Uncle Dave – Beautiful! As a weekend photography enthusiast, I always take my DSLR camera everywhere to capture natures beauty. These are terrific and reminds me to check out the Deviant Art web site again.
I happen to be in San Diego this week (.. and up at 5AM checking out Dvorak) and plan to to head out and photograph the bridge leading to Coronado Island and possibly some hot looking seals on th beach – Navy Seals, that is. I can’t wait!!

I have to disagree with the positive groupthink about these images. I am very disappointed with these and many of their type posted on websites everywhere. While they are beautiful, much of that beauty comes not from the subject being recorded, but from massive PHOTOSHOP/GIMP processing. I know most people don’t care about that distinction, but I still do. I prefer images that have some basis in reality to those that are made to conform to an artists “vision”.

It’s a shame most of these photographers do not provide images in anything larger than 1280×1024. I wish they would get in the habit of creating 1900×1200 or even better is wide screen images.
