This is Cynthia McKinny, the Green Party Presidential candidate. She is either on to something, or has been led astray. She is a known crackpot. So where are the bodies hidden? Whatever the case, you can be sure this will be getting some attention for a while although it just sounds like a complete hoax to me.

Guys, take it from a Georgia resident. This chick is bat-shit crazy. Anything that comes out of her mouth is BS.

  2. Pmitchell says:

So mustard your typical move change the subject when your cornered about your lib friends being bat shit crazy

  3. #33 – Paulio

    “change the subject”??

I quoted what you said about her “assault”, and addressed it. And I also said I thought her allegations should be looked into.

How did I “change the subject”?

Do you have a canned set of put-downs you use indiscriminately when someone doesn’t agree with whatever you say?

  4. #28 – Paulio

    >>least when republicans do something
    >>wrong we get rid of them

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. That’s why Dumbya’s still sitting in the Oval Office (only 109 days to go!!), dreaming of clearing brush full time.

You sure do get rid of ’em, don’t you? I think the last Republican who was “gotten rid of” for doing something wrong was Nixon. And that was not a result of Republican house-cleaning, by any stretch of the imagination.

  5. Y6 says:

She says ‘reportedly’ she says she has ‘no verification’. She says she wants an investigation into the private prisoner complex.

Go check out her questioning of Rumplestilskinfeld.

    Go McKinney.

    >>She says ‘reportedly’ she says she has
    >>‘no verification’.

Listen again. What she actually says (verbatim) is:

“I have no, uh, no, uh, …. and I have verification from insiders who, uh, wish to remain anonymous at the Red Cross, uh [looks to stage right] this is true”.

OK, so she’s about as eloquent as Dumbya. In any case, it should be simplicity itself to check out her claim. 5000 bodies can’t be that easy to hide, even in the swamp.

Or is it enough to just say “well, she’s a kook, so let’s ignore it”.

I agree with Sean #9. It really says something when a seemingly ludicrous claim like this needs some thought to determine “would Dumbya’s administration really do this?”.

How far we’ve fallen in the past 8 years.

Al-Qaeda did it. Time to bomb Iran.

  8. emeryjay says:

No. 4: The late Molly Ivins said she loved covering politics because it was the most fun.

    Why?

“There is no way we could make this crap up,” she said.

  9. brm says:

#26: right on. People forget that the federal government is forbidden to do anything not expressly allowed by the Constitution under the 10th Amendment.

btw: Cynthia’s running mate is a “hip-hop activist.” Ugh.

#37 “In any case, it should be simplicity itself to check out her claim. 5000 bodies can’t be that easy to hide, even in the swamp.”

Spending a dime checking out her story would be a waste.

McKinney does this type of thing when she wants to get in the news and is being (rightfully) ignored by real journalists.

  11. Mark T. says:

Wow, this is right up there with the guy that claimed sharks still ply the waters of the Atlantic Africa-to-America shipping lanes due to the fact that slave traders from 200 to 300 years ago dumped their dead human cargo overboard.

5000 human bodies, mostly male, would be a HUGE volume of corpses. If you use 200 pounds as an average, that is one million pounds of human remains dumped in the New Orleans swamps. Not likely, folks.

A rough volume of a human being is about three cubic feet. Multiply by 5000 and you get 15,000 cubic feet of human remains. A semi trailer has around 2300 cubic feet of volume. That would mean that, if packed to the roof, this would require 6.5 tractor trailers to transport to said swamp.

And only one guy said anything about it. Puh-leeze

This is a Nuremburg level accusation. And she is clearly a gullible idiot.

  12. Alex Wollangk says:

Everything I have heard agrees that this woman is both quite gullible and sensationalist. To say that her viewpoints are shared by everyone she represents suggests that all Republicans believe that dinosaurs and humans walked the earth together and the earth is six thousand years old since Sarah Palin believes this.

I get the impression that she is more gullible than stupid. It does make me wonder what is going on in the green party, though. Ralph Nader seems to me to be a much better candidate. I even voted for him once although I doubt I will ever do so again.

    >>McKinney does this type of thing when she wants
    >>to get in the news and is being (rightfully)
    >>ignored by real journalists.

Well, I’m with you there. Nobody ever accused Faux Spews (who reported on this story) of being real journalists.

If you google “cynthia mckinney” and 5000 dead bodies, there are about 30,000 hits, so SOMEBODY is paying attention to it. And she says she has verification from “inside the Red Cross”.

Should be easy enough to check out.

The scary thing is that people are actually entertaining the idea that the government would do such a thing. Mao? Maybe? Stalin or Pol Pot, maybe? Hitler? Sure. And now Dumbya and his regime have entered into that rarified stratum of real or imagined mass murderers.

    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

    The fool!
Now there is no way she will win the election.
    So close, so close….

  15. Geoffrey says:

2 million dead Iraqis irrefutably indicates Bush is a crackpot.

    Can it happen here?

    From wikipedia:

More than 18 million people passed through the Gulag from 1929 to 1953, with a further 6 to 7 million being deported and exiled to remote areas of the USSR.[5][6][7] According to data released by the KGB, Gulag population varied from 510,307 (in 1934) to 1,727,970 (in 1953).[8]. However, other sources state that there are archive documents indicating much higher numbers, 17.6 million in 1942 and approximately 13 million in 1943[4].

Most Gulag inmates were not political prisoners, although the political prisoner population was always significant.[9] People could be imprisoned in a Gulag camp for crimes such as unexcused absences from work, petty theft, or anti-government jokes. [10] About half of the political prisoners were sent to Gulag prison camps without trial; per official data, there were more than 2.6 million imprisonment sentences in cases investigated by the secret police, 1921-1953.[11] While the Gulag was radically reduced in size following Stalin’s death in 1953, forced labor camps and political prisoners continued to exist in the Soviet Union right up to the Gorbachev era.[12]

Do you think she will also take up the issue of the genocide of Leprechauns, fairies, gnomes, dwarves, brownies, gremlins and similar beings? Not much is being said about that you know.

Wrong. The question was what was the State Dept’s position on slavery. Thus the response from State. It wasn’t in the 90’s either.

    Thanks for playing though.

You still haven’t answered who was the Committee Chairman or which committee was it. Simple answer, YOU WEREN’T EFFEN THERE!!!

The 10th Amendment. It is not a power delegated to it by the Constitution.

Wrong. See Art. 1, Sec. 8, Clause 3.

    To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

#50 “You still haven’t answered who was the Committee Chairman or which committee was it. ”

I was on my blackberry and actually wasn’t a participant. The only other name I remember was a Rep named Ileana. She looked to be the Chair.

Have fun looking it up. 😉
