Player told to harm disabled teammate — This guy needs to be jailed for life.

A youth baseball coach paid one of his players to throw a ball at the head of a mentally disabled, 8-year-old teammate so the boy wouldn’t be able to play in a game, police said on Friday.

Mark R. Downs Jr., 27, offered one of his players $25 (euro21) to hit the boy in the head, police said. The player hit the boy in both the head and the groin.

The kid who took the $25 and threw the ball twice hitting him should be put away too. The story seems to gloss over that aspect of this sickening situation.

It took me a few minutes to come up with an idea about the picture. My guess is a slide of the coach’s brain showing the severe atrophy. That explains his behavior.

8 yr olds playing T-Ball are competitive? In my daughter’s T-ball league the aim is to NOT keep score and allow every kid the chance to hit and play different positions.

  2. I agree thats just rotten.

betcha it happens all the time. little-kid sports are a cut-throat business for the adults involved.
