Arch of contention, “Danza Indigena” by Judy Baca.

The recent events in Baldwin Park where what amounts to a monument predicting the eventual return of California to Mexico has created quite a stir on the West Coast. It seems as if many of the local Latinos in Socal are being emboldened by the apparent surrender of the US government to Mexico. This situation as shown on the video (below) is going to just worsen in the border states. Another good reason to split California into three states. Socal is already lost. I thought there was a law against advocating the overthrow of the government? And where is the racist/hate-crimes law when you need them?

Anyway, there is this monument that has been sitting at a trolly stop for the last 12 years that someone finally noticed as a seditious anti-American screed with the comments “It was better before they came” and, “This land was Mexican once, was Indian always, and is and will be again.” The artist now claims some gringo said this, so it’s all ok.

It’s funny how liberals in the audience sided with the Latino revolutionaries and continue to do so. And you wonder why the Democrats cannot get into power. It’s just weird.

News items worth a look:

Monument Stays!

The city has no plans to remove or alter the monument because of contractual obligations with the artist as well as “community pride,’ according to a prepared statement by Ortega.

“The monument stays,’ Ortega said.

Link to disturbing video of protest last week

Baldwin Park Homepage

Lawsuit filed on behalf of old lady who suffered brain damage at the hands of anti-white mob.

“Mayor Lozano appeared to support racist comments made by protesters against Claimant, and endorsed discriminatory comments made by his fellow protesters. Other City Council members were also present at the protest, which eventually turned into an anti-white mob. […] Furthermore, many of the attendees at the event were known to be here in the United States illegally. Instead of enforcing the law against their illicit presence, and thereby reducing the risk of a large mob mentality, the members of the City Council present at the event actively discouraged any enforcement of the law and actually incited protesters to attack those who were near Claimant.

Denizens of Baldwin Park Defend the Monument,

Interesting op-ed on the situation.

Racism isn’t a one way street. The Hispanic who hates gringos, African-American who despises the crackers and honky who is disgusted by every shade but white, are all racists.

This is the first I have heard of this. I do not support this behavior, but because this has been my only exposure I will wait until I know more before commenting. A rush to judgment is foolish on any issue. Blatantly screaming “nationalistic” diatribes only show your intelligence can’t be far below that of the Mayor and Council.

I’ll wait until I hear more then come to a decision. My spine is fine. Is your brain in pain?

Please keep us updated on this issue. Here in the Mid-West, this has no exposure.
