South American doctors are trying to find out the reason behind the hefty weight of an 11-month-old baby.

The baby weighs 28kgs (nearly 62lbs) – that is the average weight of an eight-year-old in Colombia, where he was born.

The baby’s mother, Milena Orosco de Agudelo, says he began to balloon when he was just two months old.

He just looks fatter than hell to me… but what do I know.

It’s not like the two month old is getting into the lard cupboard. This likely is a genetic manifestation and will probably kill the kid before he turns five. Sad but real.

  13. Digby says:

#12. I agree. Sad. I can’t make fun of this poor kid. It has to be a birth defect in that his body can’t regulate itself. If anybody TRIED to make a normal baby this fat, they couldn’t do it. Sad. No jokes from me here. The world is full of birth defects, and none are funny. Now, Obama’s wife, that’s funny!

  14. Mister Ketchup says:

#11 – OvenMaster, you can’t kid here. These are some serious motherfuckers.

  15. Mister Ketchup says:

That kid is too young for an exercise program. I remember being circumcised as a baby and it hurt so bad I didn’t walk for a year.

  16. OvenMaster says:

    #14: Quite right.

It’s one thing to crack wise about some health issues concerning adults brought on by behavior that is easily a matter of self-control. But when a child is ill and may even die because of an illness that was congenital, and certainly had no control over it occurring, to make lame jokes about it really is cruel.

I offer my most sincere apologies to anyone I have offended.

  17. Mister Ketchup says:

#16 – Yeah, I’ve tried apologizing. That doesn’t work here either.

if none, -then we have a problem.
