JPB in the zone
Hey you kids, get off my lawn!!

BarlowFriendz: Postponing Democracy. The increasingly glum and depressing John Perry Barlow (this is what happens to lifelong Republicans who zig when the party zags and seem wronged by it all) has been spending a lot of time moaning about Bush and jumps all over the notion that we may postpone the elections if we’re attacked on election day. Good argument against any sort of postponement except for Barlow’s hand-wringing that goes along with it.

The question is, how would America respond? Or perhaps I should say, how will America respond, since one area where Mr. Ridge and I agree is in the likelihood that there will be an attack between now and November 2. There is nothing that would make Mr. bin Laden happier than the suspension of democracy in the U.S.

Mr. Ridge and I agree??? Puh-leeze.

These serious attacks are few and far between and scattered all over the globe. Not that we should be lax, but I’d bet money that we’ll see nothing happen in this country except for a few orange alerts and maybe an arrest or two between now and the election. Ridge, er Mr. Ridge and Barlow are acting too skittish. This just makes people needlessy worried. It seems to be a theme and Barlow has fallen for it. This crap is turning the whole country into a collective nervous wreck.

  1. Jim Dermitt says:

Terrorism has become a national search for the needle in the haystack. Our government is more effective at killing people than any group of killers who are against our government. I believe we have a few hundred billion dollars budgeted for killing people. There’s nothing wrong with killing people, just so the right people get killed. Elections decide who decides who gets killed. In this war on terrorism, there are plenty of people left that need to be killed. Killing the elections isn’t a good solution for stopping the killing of people. Dead people don’t vote. Elections are life giving, while the results can mean death, which isn’t a bad thing in the big scheme of things. Ballots can be more deadly than bullets. I guess the terrorists live in fear of elections. Let the ballots fly and the bullets will follow. Vote and then lock and load.
Outside it’s America! Send lawyers, guns and money. We got an election that can’t wait. I’m voting for the guy who kills the most turkeys, not the guy who spares the turkeys.

A TURKEY NEVER VOTED FOR AN EARLY CHRISTMAS

I know nothing of JPB but that he has three names, and appears on “E! True Hollywood Stories.” For these sins alone he should be disregarded in all respects.
