A woman is charged with plotting the real-life abduction of a boyfriend she met through the virtual reality website “Second Life.”
Thirty-three-year-old Kimberly Jernigan from Durham, N.C., was returned to Delaware to face charges including attempted kidnapping after she was arrested in Maryland last week.
Court records say Jernigan drove to the 52-year-old man’s apartment Thursday with a stun gun, handcuffs and duct tape. She fled when he came home, discovered her and called police.
Not surprising she doesn’t know anyone willing to put up 6,500. Actually she doesn’t know anyone…..
Awww. When I read the headline, I was expecting a story about how a woman, playing in Second Life, kidnapped another player’s avatar within the game, and was being charged because of that. I think that would be a more interesting story.
I’m almost thirty, and was complaining about being single. But I think I will hold off on that complaining for a little while.

The man, who had just come home, noticed a laser aiming beam hitting his chest and immediately fled his apartment and contacted the police.

She had left behind her dog (stuck in the bathroom with its mouth duct-taped shut because it was making too much noise), handcuffs, the duct tape and a BB gun. She had impersonated a postal worker for four days to find out the man’s home address.
Man! Some people just won’t take no for an answer! If a crime show tried to use this story, it would surely be rejected as too unbelievable!
