People who have read my columns over the years know that I find the idea of Lomography interesting. This is where you do not compose pics but instead just shoot like mad with the cheapest camera you can find — never even using the viewfinder. You shoot while walking usually. I have probably taken a 1000 pics like this on a lark and have perhaps two stunning photos. I can tell you now that maybe there is one or two interesting pics in this collection — a collection I meant to post last year. I am not very good at this compared to what I’ve seen on the lomography site.

Digital cameras makes this sort of photography viable since there is no cost of film associated with the incredible number of wasted shots you accumulate. That said, it’s kind of fun to do this and see what you get.

Seems that you are an avid photographer with an eye for a good pic. Do you have, or are you planning on having, a site just with your photos? It seems like you should have thousands by now!

There is no “eye” involved with lomography. But I have thousands of pics, yes. Looking at this set I think the one with the woman bending over and the dog with her is the winner.

That said I only do the lomography thing once in a while when I am in the mood. As for a site of pics, anything is possible. My wife and kids always roll their eyes when the subject of my photogrpahy comes into the conversation.

Nice dog’s tail…where’s the rest of the dog?
    LAME-O-graphy…you spelled it wrong.
Looks like what happened when I gave my 5 year old a camera….to take pictures on a trip….quite a few rolls (and $$$) for pictures of people’s behinds and crotches. (Kid’s eye view of London/Paris.)
