NPR : Iraq War Costs Could Top $80 Billion in 2005 _– this was siting in the post box for a while…just something to remember! In the meantime it’s time for the Karl Rove Show!! A gem!

The Congressional Budget Office projects that the cost of the war in Iraq could surpass $80 billion in fiscal 2005. That would send total expenditures for the war past $200 billion. The estimated price tag for the conflict has steadily escalated

  1. Ethan Bearman says:

I recall Paul Wolfowitz testifying in front of a congressional committee, before invading, that the war costs would be repaid by Iraq, presumably by oil money. Are we still expecting repayment?

  2. Miguel Lopes says:

With that sort of money you could have colonies on the Moon and Mars, prospecting for energy sources that would get you off the arabian hook…

    200 billion… The mind boggles…

  3. Alan Barnard says:

$200 billion – peanuts – equivalent to one quarter’s trade deficit.
