A woman has been arrested for failing to return two books to the Grafton [Wisconsin] Library.

Heidi Dalibor was arrested after she failed to return the books, “Angels and Demons” and “White Oleander”, last year.

“I said, what could they possibly do? They can’t arrest me for this… I was wrong,” Dalibor said.

Dalibor did not respond to four notices from the library, two phone calls and two letters. The library forwarded the case to police, who issued a citation for Dalibor’s failure to return the materials or pay the fine. The citation included a court date, which Dalibor admits she ignored.

You know, this is one of those stories where I’m not on anybody’s side.. because EVERYBODY is *nuts*.

Thanks, K B

I feel sorry for you, Jim. And I hope your hubris and intolerance diminish over time. For the benefit of your immortal soul.

    >>An atheist looking for meaning in life is
    >>an oxymoron.

It’s the essence of the church of Atheism. Sad, but true. They think they find meaning in Hummers and McMansions, but in their heart of hearts, they know there something more. They just can’t find it. That’s why their lives, their hearts, and their souls are empty.

I can’t tell her religion from the photo (though I suspect she attends the largest church within 200 miles), but she does look like she drives a big SUV as though it were a sports car, follows too close, drinks bottled water (and not the cheap stuff), parks in the handicapped space and leaves the car and air conditioner running at shopping malls.

People who steal from public libraries deserve no pity.

    #32, Mr. M,
I am tolerant of anyone with a psychological disfunction. believing in a god to avoid facing the truth about death is no different than having a paranoia, or addiction. Most can be cured with treatment which includes facing a reality.

You see my total acceptance of reality as “hubris”, so don’t feel sorry for me as i have never been happier to be alive. As a catholic child, I was always in fear of being watched everywhere and anywhere… no escape… while being judged and threatened with spending eternity burning in hell. Fortunately I escaped that living hell manufactured by christianity. My friends with more controlling and heavy-handed parents didn’t fare so well.
