“What’s the Value of Online Comments?”. Beats me.
I agree.
Yeah! Woo, first post! Pwned!!
No, sorry. I am a big fan of the intelligent exchange of ideas. I have learned loads from Bobbo, Misanthrope, McCullough, etc. and on rare occasions Mustard and even Fusion (just to name a few off the top of my head).
I often don’t agree, but it does make me a smarter person.
What would life be like without the BubbaRay Dipdork award?
I also have what would be the killer app for USB 3.0.
Video. That’s right, Video!
Follow along with me here. The current theoretical max transfer rate for PCI Express 1.1 is ~2.5Gb/s. This means that if all the PCIe channels were dedicated to the video card, you could get a bit less than 2/3 of the capacity of USB 3.0.
Of course, you can never use all the PCIe lines for video, and never approach the theoretical maximum either.
Not to mention the heat requirements, noise and power draw used by the current crop of cards puts a practical limit on how much video you can use.
But… these limits fade away if the entire video, including cooling and power, are placed in a remote box, something like a remote hard drive but loads better. Upgrading your video would simply be a matter of installing a new driver, plugging in a new video box into the computer with the USB cable and plugging the monitor into the box. Imagine the video editing capabilities!
In fact, if USB 3.0 pans out, why would anyone want to use PCIe anymore?
“Online Comments” are as valuable as Radio Talk Show Call-Ins – ZERO !!! But at least you get to vent !!! And Online Comments don’t get cut-off in mid-sentence … Although in moderated forums, they might not get posted at all !!!
I got a kick out of the off-hand comment about GTA8 for kids.
Lets see:
You run around stealing bikes literally knocking over baby carriages to steal their candy.
You have to hide out from truancy cops (do they still have those?) and sneak around teachers and parents. You shake down corner lemonade stands and kids for their milk money.
You could set up a racket where you have intimidated geeks turning out school reports that you deal on the street.
Anyone want to take it from there?
The comments are often more interesting than the posts. Comments are usually extremely entertaining, informative and humorous. I’ve also learned a big lesson that there are a hell of a lot of people that don’t think the same way I do. Then there are a few total losers…
Have. To. Say. It… Annaliza is T-O-T-A-L-L-Y-H-O-T-T-T!!!!!!!
