The Beaufort Gazette: Monkey escapes from Morgan Island — These are monkies used to test vaccines and they’re escaping left and right. There seems to be no national coverage of this weirdness.

“The reality of it is there are 3,000 monkeys on an island, and we’re not going to be able to see every one of them every day,” he said.

As far as concerns by some of the residents that the monkeys may carry infectious diseases, Westergaard said the possibility is very minimal, as the research performed on the monkeys does not take place on the island. The monkeys also go through physical examinations four times a year to ensure they are healthy and carry no diseases.

    Hmmmm.
Let’s see here….this creepy company, Alpha Genesis, goes
to all the expense and trouble of building animal facilities on an ISLAND but the monkeys are perfectly safe, no monkey research going on here?
You don’t have to be a Doctor Moreau to figure out that isolation and an ISLAND kind of go together.
Kinda like Plum Island. Devil’s Island. Alcatraz. Elba. Australia, fahcrissakes!
Next we’ll be hearing that these 3000 monkeys are really abandoned Teletubbies wearing animatronic monkey suits for some Disney movie funded by the Quakers.

  2. Geez, and I thought it was the 12 Monkees that would usher the apocalypse, and now I hear there are thousands?
