Barack Obama’s Iowa crowd elects him president already | Top of the Ticket | Los Angeles Times — As this progresses it does indeed look like a Thomas Dewey scenario. This guy has apparently won without playing the game out.
But before listening to his usual stump speech, the crowd, perhaps spontaneously, perhaps not, had something that seemed just right to do for their guy, according to the From the Road blog of CBS News’ Allison O’Keefe. The nominee-to-be’s fans sang “Happy Birthday” to him. On Monday Obama will turn 47.
But the happy crowd did not sing the song, “Happy Birthday, Senator Obama.”
It was a small but revealing thing. The very confident crowd sang the song, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.”
And Barack Obama looked very pleased to hear it.

It doesn’t seem any different than when they introduce the candidates as “The next President of United States”. Both parties have been doing that for as long as I remember.

this one year we could really use a third party alternative that really cares about the country, not some left or right bought and paid for ideology.. -the two current ones will destroy whats left of it.

The reaction of the media to Barack Obama is more surprising. He doesn’t give them access even 1% of what McCain does, but they are in love with him. Battered wife syndrome it is.
Well, after eight years of president monkey-poo-for-brains, and considering the alternative, yeah, sure.
Who would you want your kid to emulate? A guy who wants a job so bad, he spews slime in every direction? These last few McCain ads…what can you say?
Obama, whatever his perceived faults(and of course he doesn’t appeal to Knucklehead Conservatives, those Very Wise Men who have given us such Good Times!)…is a thoughtful and intelligent guy WHO ACTUALLY STUDIES THE ISSUES HE’S TALKING ABOUT.

Let’s face it, the campaign is OVER !!! McBush laid out his “Vision” for America – MORE OF THE SAME !!! And the people don’t want it !!! Obama has advocated for CHANGE, whethere you believe it or not !!! And the people DON’T WANT ANY MORE OF WHAT THE REPUBLICANS OFFER !!! So, look for a Democratic LANDSLIDE, with Obama winning easily, and carrying MORE DEMOCRATS INTO CONGRESS, and washing a lot of Republicans OUT !!! This will become more and more apparent after Labor Day and when people pay more attention to the Election. The Media is currently screaming about the election merely to have something other than the weather and ball scores to report !!!

#5, the Obama ads I’ve seen haven’t been positive either. Obama in color vs McCain in black and white is your standard negative attack ad. I imagine McCain is doing the same thing, but he doesn’t have the money to run many I think so I haven’t seen them.
What I think is that both men have what it takes to run a country club and neither has what is needed to run a nation.
