If MS wanted to sell Vista they should push it as “the 64 bit OS”. I’m sure Dell and HP would sign up.
Cloud computing as a app living on a server (a la GMail) still ain’t there for complex apps. Cloud computing with a desktop component like iTunes works great now. Tying desktop apps to services (SOAP, REST, propriety protocol) is the way to go – just ask any WoW player.
The problems with vista,
That the Standard USER dont see or understand..
512 MEG WONT WORK, not very well, and totally SUCKS. Even a 3GIG machine is abit sluggish, and no amount of ram helps very much.
64bit windows, is cool, but no one has made ALL the drivers or games for 64bit.
i would love to check out the configuration of the machines MS was useing. Wouldnt they be TOP END $3000-5000 machines, or would they be the $400-1000 machines 80% of the USA buys?

I’m running Vista right now with 2 gigs of RAM, no problems. 512 meg probably won’t work, but RAM is cheap these days.
My laptop supports 64 bits. I’d like to see more support for 64 bit computing, as in drivers and 64 bit applications.
A 2100 year old computer will boot straight into DOS 3.1

And how many persons understand, that you can ADD a few things to your computer, and make changes?
Did you know that 1 company made a machine that wouldnt let you use more then 1 Ram chip, and THAT couldnt be more then 512meg..
You have to understand that 80% PLUS of the USA isnt NOT tech savy. they go to BEST BUY and get charged $50-100 to insert a $20 ram chip.
