I’ve seen similar illusions.. Pretty nifty.
Actually, you can stare anywhere you want, as long as you keep your focus in the same location.
I’ve been aware of after-image effects.. but this is kina backwards after-color effects. though it’s related. Very cool.

Hop and I had a whole illusion series on Cage Match awhile back. That illusion reminded me of it. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth visiting.

This one uses a simple negative image for the color plate, but you can use a pure color plate to better advantage.

That is cool.
The game we used to play, as kids, was to hold up a page of a magazine and set off a single flash from a strobe.
Then we’d read from the afterimage. You’d be surprised how much you can see and for how long in perfect darkness.
I wonder if that declines with age?
