Before they can even speak, some of these tots can flash their signs and are adorned with gang colors and accouterments. Are gang-themed line of onesies far behind? Blood parents call their offspring Blood drops, stains, or rims, which is just the cutest. One Latin King father described his son’s blessing at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Morningside Heights four years ago during a quasi-religious ceremony.
“It’s like a christening,” he said. “The priest holds the baby and we say our prayer at the same time. We have to have the window open and the baby pointed toward the sun.” Once blessed, the child is given yellow beads – the gang’s color. “He’s a true gangster. The way he acts with people, the way he just wants to beat you up and punch you,” Iron said of the 4-year-old “Latin Prince” he hopes will preach peace within the gang. The first child Iron baptized, though, was killed in a drive-by at age 2; Iron says he was the target.
In a separate article, a 38-year-old mother of two describes how she also had her four children christened as Latin Kings and Latin Queens. As they became older, she started to reflect on her life of being subjected to beatings, shooting and slashing people, and being raped by Latin Kings, and then decided to flee the community. She is now a minister and hopes that her former gang life will never catch up with her, or her children. And last year, Yankees caps with gang colors were pulled from the shelves.
Intelligence is not a prerequisite for parenthood, but maybe it should be.
It sounds as though the mother mentioned at the end of the article is trying to put things right for her children. I wish her the best in keeping her children safe.
That is really sad, but such is life.
Unfortunately, these fucks are reproducing in record numbers, along with illegal aliens and welfare moms. Those families that have both parents and steady income aren’t having as many babies due to time constraints of a 2 income family. If this keeps up, America will be nation full of blood thirsty shitheads that speak Spanish!

I have no idea where you think that is happening.
I don’t know anything about this gangsta culture but I am watching “The Wire” which is supposedly more realistic that other TV crime drama.
One thing that is emphasized is young the drug culture is. The gangs employ little children — really little — to handle much of the dope, shielding them from adult prosecution.
The series also shows that these drug gang kids are often the breadwinners of the family.

#15 Gerome – I am resisting watching that series because I’m afraid it glorifies or at least justifies gang culture. Even if the show makes gang life look bad, the fact that a show has been created around gang life creates a level of acceptance or tolerance in the main stream.
Not being catholic, I still can not fathom how their whole “forgiven of confessed sins” while indoctrinating their offspring in murderess gang rituals, works. Not only are the parent apparently not very repentant. They’re passing their sinful ways directly onto their next generation, with so kind of twisted pride. And they wonder why prayer aren’t always answered. If I were their god, I’d certain take what they ask for with a huge grain of salt. And they’d have to whistle far pretty to get off the hook with their past transgressions. But obviously their church has failed to teach them anything more than squaring thing with the local priest.

About 30 years ago the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation had a mini series about the Italian Mafia in Canada. Yes, names were discussed, interviews, pictures of reluctant interviewees, shots of homes, businesses run by the Mafia, and police forces that ignore what was happening. It took only a few years to totally cripple the mob by putting them and the crooked cops and politicians behind bars.
Unless people realize who lives around the corner, looking like a nice family person, they will never understand the dangers gangs pose and who leads them.
Damn we need a licensing program for parenthood! Besides, we have enough people anyway.
