The U.S. average price for a gallon of regular gasoline topped $4 for the first time, a survey issued today by the travel group AAA showed.

AAA’s survey showed a national average price of $4.005 per gallon, up from $3.67 a month ago and $3.10 a year ago.

Average national gasoline prices had stabilized last week before Thursday and Friday’s spike of U.S. crude oil futures by $16 to a record above $139 a barrel. Friday’s one-day gain of $10.75 for crude oil was the biggest daily gain in history, and Thursday’s gain was the second biggest.

Kinda makes the weekend, doesn’t it?

    #117, Mustard,

I’ll bet you litter too. And flick your cigarette butts out the window of your SUV.

You could be on to something. His mommy doesn’t let him smoke in the basement. But it’s a Power Puff Girls bike, not a SUV.

John D. any possabilty of limiting posts to say two hundred words or less. And maybe three per discusion. Way to many blowhards who do not understand brevity.

  3. bobbo says:

John D. any possability of limiting posts to people who have something to say? Further, it would benefit us all to limit posts to people who can pick and choose what they read and respond to without requiring everyone else to be of like mind?

Maybe bifurcate the blog==the “MTV short attention span class” for those who want clipped contributions with artificial limits, and an “unlimited blowhard class” open to all without restriction—aka, those who can think for themselves?

And now that I’m thinking of it, ((gee, am I close to the 200 word limit?)) how about a third class for those who use links and dictionaries to structure their contributions??

And, and, and,===I’ve already thought of 5-6 more classes of people the blog should be aimed at. What limited choice you have here: “uncensored.” How unimaginative.

    #95, troll,

#91–Gawd–for the 3rd time==I never asked you to prove a negative==I asked you to confirm what exactly you say has never happened.

What the fuck ??? If YOU want a repeat then read the fucking post again !!! YOU are too fucked up to understand a reply to a silly, untrue remark by an earlier poster.

Confirm that something has not happened. Right. And that is not proving a negative. Riiiight. What would you call it? Oopps, that would involve Bobbo’s infamous illogical logic.

    #66, Bobbo,

#66–Gawd==you make me want to google the issue just for the challenge.

But you didn’t. Instead you want me to do your work for you. If I am wrong then demonstrate your own proof. If I am correct, then shut the eff up.

Your post asked questions already answered in the post. Why ask again?

Has a company ever thought about building a new refinery but dropped the idea because of the required pollution or environmental controls? I don’t know. I am not allowed access to every company that might consider something along those lines. Yet that knowledge would be required to categorically state that “the government has prevented the construction of new refineries.”

Go back and read your #75.
No further discussion needed until you define what you claim has never happened. You want me to DEFINE my CLAIM has NEVER happened. Yup. Sure looks like you are asking me to prove a negative.

You want some confirmation? Read post #66, by ME.

    Ya can’t fix stupid

Who said the earth quit makeing oil??

  6. viking63 says:

Yup, us Americans should do something about high gas prices and everything else thats too high, Lets just take five days off, Don’t do anything . No mowing no boating no driveing. If you want to visit a friend walk or ride a bike. Just five days and lets see what happens then. And one more thing don’t spend one cent on anything unless it health related.
