Looks like Mobile Me is going to be part of an overall .Mac rebranding. Jobs has previously admitted that Apple’s ‘net-based productivity tie-ins have not worked well, and it’s clear that is because they’re pay services.

Personally, I’d use a free service that linked information on my iPhone to my Mac (and vice versa)… but that sounds a lot like what Blackberry does. They’re going to have to do something new to make it a game changer.

  2. edwinrogers says:

You’re allowed to say, “.. push the Puma.”?

  3. John Paradox says:

    The iMe, followed by iMyself

    J/P=?

  4. Lou Minatti says:

    I call it Mini Me.

  5. Mij says:

Unfortunately I couldn’t get over the bad sound. This episode sounded like he was talking into a “cuff mike.”

  6. pjakobs says:

fortunately, Apple has not made any attempts to get the “mobileme” domain names worldwide. This way, I get to keep my address 🙂 I’ve had the domain since 1999 – or would that be unfortunately?

#5 – Does this mean Verne Troyer will show up at WWDC next week?

#7 – If you’re getting charged per hit or per download, which I hope you’re not, you may want to rethink things.

Or just offer your own competing service in an attempt to get bought out by Apple.

#8 – Your worship is noted. Now only if you could back up your bullshit, you’d get somewhere.

I doubt we have to worry about that ever happening.

  8. Rich says:

John, that audible distortion makes it a pain to listen to you. Do you use a different mic while on the road? I noticed the same thing when you were in Korea.
