So I assume the bathrooms will be bugged as well since you know that’s where terrorists are mixing their hair gels and mouthwash to build bombs.
In-flight surveillance could foil terrorists in the sky
CCTV cameras are bringing more and more public places under surveillance – and passenger aircraft could be next.
A prototype European system uses multiple cameras and “Big Brother” software to try and automatically detect terrorists or other dangers caused by passengers.
The European Union’s Security of Aircraft in the Future European Environment (SAFEE) project uses a camera in every passenger’s seat, with six wide-angle cameras to survey the aisles. Software then analyses the footage to detect developing terrorist activity or “air-rage” incidents, by tracking passengers’ facial expressions.
The system performed well in tests this January that simulated terrorist and unruly passenger behaviour scenarios in a fake Airbus A380 fuselage, say the researchers that built it.
[…]
“It looks for running in the cabin, standing near the cockpit for long periods of time, and other predetermined indicators that suggest a developing threat,” says James Ferryman of the University of Reading, UK, one of the system’s developers.Other behaviours could include a person nervously touching their face, or sweating excessively. One such behaviour won’t trigger the system to alert the crew, only certain combinations of them.
Suppose each recording is kept on file. Imagine you apply for a job that requires travel so they pull up your footage to check your drinks per flight ratio. Combine that with the street cameras showing you eating fatty foods (with that non-wife female) that would drive up insurance costs and then there’s the weblogs of you visiting, well, you know where you’ve been and …. Next!
“Big Brother technology” … you mean, the TV show?
Hey! This could being reality TV to new Nielsen-rated highs!
If anyone says “If you’ve got nothing to hide, why worry” I’ll freak out.
Stick a booger on the lens.
Uncle Dave in another “Big brother UK” shocker.
This website is rapidly becoming boring – your items especially.
And people who are identified as hostile automatically gets tasered.

Feel free to watch Fox News if you want all American news.
No matter how insane our government becomes, at least the Europeans have and will continue to provide the model for implementing a police state.

Sounds like something they could subcontract out to Chuck Berry
Women sue Berry, Charge he took bathroom videos

Wow… what a waste of money and time. How many false positives will have to be investigated? Too many. That will create a “The Kid Who Cried Wolf” situation, which will render the system useless.
#4: I can’t help it if Europe and the UK in particular are at the forefront of rights suppression. Bush & Cheney have been working overtime to win this race, but it seems those on the other side of the ocean are beating us time and time again. I’m sure we’ll catch up and there will be more US-related stories in the future. Be patient.
“Other behaviours could include a person nervously touching their face, or sweating excessively.”
I’m watching the successful Discovery Shuttle Launch right now. No camera’s on the crew, but I bet they fit this profile. THEY ARE ALL TERRORISTS!!!!!
wait until the cameras are connected to “enforcement mechanisms” and they determine that the operators are malicious when deactivating them. The day skynet went live. :O)
Everybody wellcome to new world.
First red light cameras to catch drivers going through red lights.
Now more cameras to watch us.
Big Brother and the world government will soon own us all (or at least our kids and grandkids).
