Indian village proud after double honor killing | U.S. | Reuters — As India insists on entering the world stage, the country is going to have to gets its social structure together. This sort of scene is pathetic.

Five armed men burst into the small room and courtyard at dawn, just as 21-year-old, 22-week pregnant, Sunita was drying her face on a towel. They punched and kicked her stomach as she called out for her sleeping boyfriend “Jassa”, 22-year-old Jasbir Singh, witnesses said. When he woke, both were dragged into waiting cars, driven away and strangled.

Their bodies, half-stripped, were laid out on the dirt outside Sunita’s father’s house for all to see, a sign that the family’s “honor” had been restored by her cold-blooded murder. A week later, the village of Balla, just a couple of hours drive from India’s capital New Delhi, stands united behind the act, proud, defiant almost to a man.

  1. The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign was launched on Mother’s Day 2008. The goal of the campaign is to prosecute honorcides to the fullest extent of the law. We want honorcide to be classified as a hate crime and we advocate for every existing hate crime legislation to be amended to include honorcide.

Honorcide is just unacceptable, it is not killing for honor, but more often this is killing for the satisfaction of being “IN CONTROL”.

HOW DARE YOU lower caste arse go f**k my daughter!
HOW DARE YOU running off with a lower caste, especially when I have arranged a marriage for you!

I think that two line basically sums up the killers basic line of thought… They have no honor…

Many cultures would find some of our rules just as unexceptable. Capital punishment, abortion, war against other countrys who have not harmed us, ect. Before you call a kettle black….

  4. Eddie the hun: “Many cultures would find some of our rules just as unexceptable”

This is the dumbest argument for honorcide we’ve ever come across. Have you been dropped on your head to often?

  5. Maniac says:

Capital punishment around the world often have a very common cause for it, like murder, rape, drugs, causing others bodily harm, or kidnapping. Not all of them are punishable by death universally in the world, but most of them are more or less in line with most culture’s idea of “if anything is punishable by death, this had to be it.” sort of thing.

I see that punishing murderers with death is quite often used around the world. As the idea goes that you take life from someone would cause you to lose yours. Simple! I don’t see many culture that goes on a murderous rampage for their daughter marrying someone that they don’t like, nor does I often see any culture that goes on witch hunts when they have their relatives dies of mysterious diseases.
