We had geek hearthrob Veronica Belmont on the show this week. She had just quit Mahalo.com and I tried to find out where she was headed. She wouldn’t say but my best guess was Rev. 3 or Leo Laporte’s line-up since he has been talking more and more about doing videos. We’ll see. Personally I’m just trying to pump the Cranky Geek numbers.

Tekzilla is so much better now that everything I disliked was cut out and turned into Pop Siren (which I will admit is strange, because before the split I thought I liked Sarah and Jessica).
If Tekzilla is the new Screen Savers – Pop Siren is Attack of the Show. I like Dr. Kirsten (Kiki) Sanford though. Hopefully she can do a Tekzilla segment that does not come off like it is aimed at 5 year olds. (I freely admit I stopped watching Pop Siren after the third episode or so)
Looking back it was clear that Veronica was on the prowl. Just look at the shows she was on in the last couple of weeks. I really want to know what this means for Mahalo though, Calacanis seemed to be happy with Veronica, the numbers for Mahalo Daily, and the attention it brought. I wonder if he plans on stepping in and taking it over himself? Was Veronica just not happy with the gig? Surely she had a contract.
I’d ‘sack’ her, wouldn’t beat her with sticks.

That sure didn’t take long. Did Calacanis lose all his money on the Tesla or did he realize that no one was watching?
If you wanted to boost the numbers you should have put her in a little black dress and had her sit on the table.

Podcasts are not like regular TV, the money is no where near as big, so if someone becomes a big star via podcasts, and someone offers them actual paychecks, they jump ship quick. Veronica Belmont is just following Natali Del Conte’s lead.
Moral of the story, start your own podshow, become a star, start earning real money… eventually.
I’m predicting Felicia Day (The Guild) will be next.
In an interview posted on Valleywag she says that for Mahalo she had to go down to LA for around 2 weeks a month.
