The Independent Florida Alligator — More government intrusion into people’s lives. Personally I do not see how lefty profressors are that influential. Annoying sometimes perhaps. Influential, I don’t think so. Where is the evidence? So let’s sue them!

TALLAHASSEE — Republicans on the House Choice and Innovation Committee voted along party lines Tuesday to pass a bill that aims to stamp out “leftist totalitarianism” by “dictator professors” in the classrooms of Florida’s universities.

The Academic Freedom Bill of Rights, sponsored by Rep. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, passed 8-to-2 despite strenuous objections from the only two Democrats on the committee.

Pat O’Furby says, “If you can’t be good, be careful and watch out for people carrying almanacs.”

Maybe you can sue the TV weather people now if they say it’s going to be nice outside and you get stuck in the rain without an umbrella.
Yes your Honor, I got soaked and they claimed it would be clear and sunny out that day. My client has been depressed your Honor and needs medication and has Manic Rain Depression from this.

Our local hardware store was giving almanacs away. Maybe I should call the weather police. I thought I would pass this on.

The only thing wacky about the above is the lefty journalist article above. For example from the actual Academic Bill of Rights:

    4. Curricula and reading lists in the humanities and social sciences should reflect the uncertainty and unsettled character of all human knowledge in these areas by providing students with dissenting sources and viewpoints where appropriate. While teachers are and should be free to pursue their own findings and perspectives in presenting their views, they should consider and make their students aware of other viewpoints. Academic disciplines should welcome a diversity of approaches to unsettled questions.

Notice it says social science and humanities not real science. Evolution would fall under real science I suspect.

Here to pure scholarship, that we hope will never be of any use to anybody!

    Two funny things about this.

The first is that the Right is trying to give us MORE frivolous lawsuits. Oh the irony!

The second is that the law assumes that students already know everything they need before they even get to college. Heck, the law assumes they know more than their professors! Hilarious stuff for sure!
