    I don’t recall the exact percentages; but, ITV carried a later — and longer — piece on the work from The Lancet. Significant was that a majority of the British population is genetically capable of carrying the disease. Originally, it was thought about 25-30% might be potential carriers. Now, the number is more like 80% or so.

    So far, no test in place to evaluate blood bank stock.
