• Microsoft Gets World’s Biggest Fine for screwing up.
  • Adobe Air is out along with flex. I think these are not that big of a deal unless I’m missing something.
  • Sun to skeptics, Open Source CAN make money. The company says buying MySQL the most important in software history? Cripes.
  • Intel looking to the masses.
  • Microsoft to pay more royalties for stolen patent.
  • Look for global RFID spending to explode.

    Great show!

MS is going to have to do something with all that money in the bank.

Maybe they could stop tormenting Yahoo and chasing Google. They should get back into the OS business. There is plenty of room for innovation on that front.

Hypothetical question, what if Microsoft said to the EU, f*ck off! We’re not paying you a cent. Honestly, Microsoft pretty much has the entire world by the balls when it comes to it’s software. Would it drive these countries to Linux? Who would force them to pay? I know this might be a naive question, but what the hell.

#3 – I agree with you, Gunther. Who would dare even try to make MSFT pay up? This is the way of the world, though, so Linux users unite!

  5. Judge Jewdy says:

Microsoft should be fined for Vista.

  6. GregA says:

Why did sun buy MySQL and not Google?

What the heck is that sort of bubbling sound in the background of the podcast? (My dear wife noticed it and asked if JCD was sitting in front of a large aquarium or in a mad science lab or stirrin’ up potions with Harry Potter or sumthin’.)

That “bubbling” is John smoking a bong…

RFID tags are so handy for inventory tracking that it’s incredible. I don’t see it in the same category as concentration camp tattoos.
