PC Pro: News: Yahoo! to launch its own blogging service Everyone is trying to get into the act.

Internet portal Yahoo! has finally announced its long-awaited move into the blogging arena. The company says that it will be making a version of its Yahoo! 360 ‘Web log and social networking service’ to a restricted number of users from March 29th.

At the moment, the name of the game with Internet portals is to integrate a number of existing services into a compelling single package. The strategy being that if customers become hooked on say, instant messaging, they are much more likely to take up and become a regular user of the other services. So it is with Yahoo! 360. The product will bring together a number of the company’s existing services existing products, such as IM, photo storage and publishing, local search, music and groups.

    I thought Yahoo would get into blogging. It took them long enough.
