What germs? We don’t see any germs.

Muslim medical students are refusing to obey hygiene rules brought in to stop the spread of deadly superbugs, because they say it is against their religion.

Women training in several hospitals in England have raised objections to removing their arm coverings in theatre and to rolling up their sleeves when washing their hands, because it is regarded as immodest in Islam.

Universities and NHS trusts fear many more will refuse to co-operate with new Department of Health guidance, introduced this month, which stipulates that all doctors must be “bare below the elbow”.

The measure is deemed necessary to stop the spread of infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile, which have killed hundreds.

Perhaps they should make a different career choice. Perhaps their patients would prefer that, as well.

Thanks, Mr. Justin

#33. I checked out the website you linked. What am I supposed to look for?
About Taliban- you heard, I heard. You heard they banned women from education. I heard they banned intersex mingling, separate education is allowed and education and searching and gaining knowledge is a must upon every muslim male or female. That is the rule in Islam. Whatever Taliban or taliband as you put it did, its their choice , that does not mean thats how it is in islam. I am no watcher over them or have no connection to them whatsoever. When you say muslim you have to keep in mind, “muslim” means “one who surrenders to the will of god” as “your will (god’s will) will be done on earth” as in christianity. Lord’s prayer, right? So when a muslim uses the word “muslim” or reads it in the qur’an, he/she means whover surrendered his/her will to god since the creation of adam. Islam or muslims did not appear just 1500 years ago. All who believed in god and acted upon his commands more or less is muslim. Adam, noah, abraham, ishmael, jacob, jonah, moses, jesus, muhammad, the sun, the moon , the stars, the wind , the stones, the flowers, the ants, the trees, the clouds, the animals etc.
Do you hold any belief, Pedro? Do you read Old or New Testament, go to church? You don’t have to answer. Thanks for your reply though.

#25 – No, Islamic people are forbidden from having any contact with the opposite sex, save their spouse(s).

Makes one wonder how Islamic man ever met Islamic woman in the first place.

#27 – WTF does socialized medicine have to do with it?

What does it ever have to do with anything? How do the “Hollywood types” get involved? When did the Marxists get involved? What about that “homesexual agenda”? Why do liberals hate America?

Who knows how axes get ground… One thing is for sure… If we ever need to chop down a forest in an emergency, the right wing is sharpened and ready to go.

    Yay for axe grinding!

#32 – I’m with the Don’t Comply…Say Goodbye crowd. Why are these people always pandered to?

Who said they were being pandered to? Is there a rash of unsanitary Islamic surgeries going on?

But why not pander to them? We pander to the damned Christian Right all the time. One delusional myth is as good as another.

#35 – In the future, start your posts with “Once upon a time” and end them with “they lived happily ever after.”

Glen should re-read history books. There have been several well known and well respected female Quaker doctors. Elizabeth Blackwell, educated by the Quakers, Anna M. Longshore-Potts, Quaker doctor, Hannah Meyers Longshore, Quaker, Anna E. Bromall, Sarah R. Adamson Dolley, both were Quakers. I’m not sure what century Glen is living in, but he needs to check his facts before spouting off about Quakers.
