Pointless… but cool.
I wonder what would happen if a group of say 20 or 30 people got together and all threw paper airplanes out that same or nearby window all at the same time. What would happen below? Would the sheeple go bonkers fearing an attack from above? Are we that paranoid? Fearing paper? I sure hope not! I would look up in awe and wish that I were up at the top of that building participating in what is a truly unique American idiosyncrasy. The fear must end! Vote Ron Paul!

Yes but they’re breathtakingly stupid!
I’ve wondered about that “light weight re-entry vehicles” for a long time, along with using water for an ablative shield. Or a combination of the two.
Maybe the next experiment should be to see what a piece of pure ice would do on re-entry.
