  1. Improbus says:

Is that a pyroclastic flow? Turn around or be flash fried Mr. Newspaper Man.

  2. keane-o says:

I think that small veil of dust behind the vehicle – is his rear brakes locking up.

  3. Ah_Yea says:

Is the the most committed newspaper or the most stupid reporters?

  4. Ah_Yea says:

Oh wait, oh wait! I know! This guy want to report on how it’s like to win the Darwin Award!

  5. Ryan Vande Water says:

I call shenanigans. looks like a fake to me. Different noise levels in the clouds and the grass. The “dust” behind the truck looks fake as well.

  6. Lugnitz says:

Photoshopped truck. I believe this is a pic of the Monseratte pyroclastic flow a few years ago.

  7. cheese says:

“Committed” alright — straight to the psychiatric ward!

  8. Mike says:

Fake? – that’s what advertising is all about.

Montserrat? – There was a pyroclastic flow from Mt. Pinatubo in 1991; every Filipino would recognize it.

  9. AdmFubar says:

    HA!
This will be a small burp to what is coming, and soon… Anak Krakatoa (child of krakatoa) the volcano that was heard around the world is now the same size and its parent!!! this island will most likely explode again… how soon?? how much of it will go this time?? dunno… but you wont wanna be standing next to it when it does.. or on the beach in about 500 mile radius from it when it blows..
Wonder who will win the darwin awards on this one…

  10. iGlobalWarmer says:

The cloud is cool. All natural disasters are cool.

  11. spoiler says:

might have been pick of the day seven years ago

  12. Angel H. Wong says:

Looks like for Kate Moss and her super white powder vacuuming power.

  13. Mister Catshit says:

    Amazing picture.

  14. Nope says:

Well, it looks like they got tired of people linking to it and pulled it offline. *sniff*

  15. chudez says:

this ad is a photoshop’ed version of this famous pic

where they were running away from the pyroclastic flow.

but — in defense of the newspaper referred to in the ad — the journalists of that newspaper were among those in the vehicle in the original pic, along with seismologists and other journalists.

  16. hhopper says:

I wonder what causes the photo in the post to cause a download box to open instead of linking to it.
