We previously posted a story about seven times Formula 1 winner, Michael Schumacher, took the wheel of a taxi in Germany to be able to get back in time to an Airport. Now authorities are looking into this situation:

Schuey ‘broke law’ with cab ride – Metro.co.uk: Former Formula One race ace Michael Schumacher may have broken the law when he drove a taxi.
The seven-time world champion, who was trying to get his family to an airport in Germany in time for a flight, took the wheel when the taxi got stuck in traffic.
But police in Coburg, Bavaria, are to ask cabbie Tuncer Yilmaz why he allowed the star to drive.
Mr Yilmaz said the 38-year-old ‘took the bends with full speed’ but ‘knew how to do it’, giving him the ‘coolest ride of his life’ last week.
Schumacher reportedly paid the £42 (about US$84) fare and left a £70 (about US$140) tip.

Goes to show you how celebrities , in this case an auto driver , are “American Royalty” , even overseas.
Did he have a valid driver’s licence in this case ? Did he had to overpower the taxi driver , or just sweet talk him or was the taxi driver so impressed that he just allowed it.

  2. the man says:

Schumy “American Royalty”. German Royalty or Italian Royalty maybe.

I´m afraid he not only broke the law driving a professional vehicle without a license (and the licenses are not the same, or else the cab driver would be allowed to drive the F1….) but also broke some speed limits and red lights in the process…
I say throw him in the slammer…

  6. Hvacmach says:

The cops are just worried that the locals will try and beat the new record time to the airport, Smokey and the Bandit Dutch Style!
