I’m sorry but an assortment of people running around with broomsticks between their legs sure look like a bunch of nincompoops to me!

I think they’re practicing Wiccans, brushing up on their broom-riding skills.
Really, really stupid game IMHO, but it probably does help teach teamwork.
The USAF Officer Training School has a game called flicker ball that is pretty stupid too, it was developed to teach teamwork.
Ogre says… NERDS!
The destruction of Western Civilization is near…
males actually go to vasser ? I thought it was a womans college
My ten year old son invented a very similar version played without brooms using beanbags for blodgers and an untied inflated balloon released by a referee at random during the game. If a seeker caught the balloon before it hit the ground it was scored. It worked surprisingly well and looked a good bit less silly being played by a pack of rabid ten year olds than it does in the video. That said, it is college, have a blast kids.
It’s all fun and games until some coed gets impaled with a broom handle.
These weirdos need to wait until the physics nerds have figured out anti-gravity propulsion technology.
I don’t understand what the seekers are supposed to do in this version of the game. Are they looking for a snitch hidden somewhere on campus? From the video, it looks like all they do is run around willy-nilly.
I work around the corner from Vassar. It hasn’t been a women’s only college for a very long time. I have been working here for almost 20 years, and there have always been male students.
As far as this game is concerned, now I know what those nuts running around with the brooms are about. Thanks!
OK, I think everyone missed why this is stupid. They are pretending to be riding horses by using brooms. Now if these kids were 5 years old I would say pretending to ride a horse with a broom is OK. But these are college students who are adults, or at least you would think they are adults? Whatever happened to the past time of throwing a football around? I am certainly glade I am not a parent of any of them.
Harmless fun. It looks like good exercise too.
#13, Don’t ya know horses from brooms!? Their clearly using brooms to pretend they are riding brooms!
P.S. That actually looks like something I’d do.
P.S.S. Google quidich if you don’t get it.
Guys will do anything to get laid, even if it is playing “Quidich” with a bunch of nerdy Vassar girls.
“Hey babe… here’s another broomstick for you to ride! Yeah, that’s it, tickle my quaffle!”
Those that can’t get lucky even this way get to be ‘Beaters’
lol #17
I am ok with the game iff the brooms can fly with the riders on them. Seemed all very flightless to me, ergo I am not ok with this game. Exercise as was noted would be the only plus I see here. Looks like a lambda/lambda/lambda sport waiting to get desecrated by the AlphaBetas.
WTF????????????
Harry Potter wanna be, no doubt.
These people more deserve more credit then #13 or #3 gives them. They seem to be having too much fun to think it stupid.
#14, yes harmless fun, until as #8 points out the obvious, someone gets hurt. More likely someone gets an eye poked out.
I’m sure the broom handle with be the ONLY THING between any of their legs….
It looks dumb. It’s based on a kids book series. And, shouldn’t they be either hard at the books, researching, or hanging out in bars drinking beer and trying to score? What is with schools these days? Or, let me guess, it’s a college class?
What else? Divination, Magical Beasts, and Potions?
Vassar’s been co-ed since 1969.
I can see the team/club play from my window on campus. The snitch is a kid wearing a yellow pinnie and he just runs for the seekers catches him. Oh, well… to each his own, but it’s definitely a game for nerds =)
So far, as of 2013, there are 1000+ teams internationally. this is currently some pretty big stuff. i watched a game, and apparently it’s full contact, and people get hurt all the time. i started messing around with quidditch with my friends, it’s pretty fun, and i think i would not mind playing on a team
