The posting on YouTube of a clip announcing a school shooting in Finland before it happened shows how self-shot videos have become the favored means for modern killers wanting to get their message across.
Seven children and the school principal were killed today when a fellow pupil opened fire at a school in southern Finland, hours after a clip posted on video sharing Web site YouTube predicted a massacre there. The shooter later died in hospital after shooting himself in the head.
The YouTube video, entitled “Jokela High School Massacre – 11/7/2007,” was posted by a user called Sturmgeist89. “Sturmgeist” means storm spirit in German.
The user’s account has since been suspended.
Yeah, it’s all YouTube’s fault! Sue Google! Wow, those victim’s families are gonna be BIILLIONAIRES…
Too bad the lawsuit will pay out in dollars, which by then will be worth about enough Finars or Finnos or whatever to buy a used Yugo.
Guess that school didn’t have enough metal detectors, renegade cops, and zero tolerance policies.
Why ban his account? He’s not going to posting anymore.
Youtube bans accounts too easily and too often.
And the press will make the shooter a hero for another nutter… bravo… đ

Then you’re an idiot.
Things like this only happen in Finland????????
Gosh, and the kid wasn’t even a “fucking Xian”. Will ownders never cease!
Good thing was that the kid killed himself, Finland saved a lot of time and money: no court costs, no feeding him in prison for the next 40 years, no medical costs etc.
If I was a loser like him I would’ve walked behind an outhouse and shot myself in a head first, then thought about walking to the school to kill people.
IMHO:
I don’t see how metal detectors and guards will put stop to these school massacres. The “sickos” can always come in blastin’ and shoot the guards and walk past the metal detectors, and after that kill the students/teachers/janitors.
It’s so easy to blame the school and insufficient security measures, when one should concentrate on real problem: Why these people want to do those horrible acts? They’re “messed up” and need -help- BEFORE they go on these rampages.
PS.
Btw Rob, Finland uses EUROs which allready has a better market value than USD.
I like the way this got a hell of a lot less press than the US shootings…
#13 – Finland’s gun control is stricter than the US (though looser than the rest of Europe). Since their laws are already tighter than ours, the gun control crowd gains nothing by publicizing this as a way to try and stir up the “we need more laws” frenzy.
[…]the comment`s that he posted on his youtube page and with his friend ingustuvTV , the man that he can say that inspired sturmgeist89 to kill […]
So finlands like, a country then?

Do you seriously not see the sarcasm there..? Do your seriously think that I would actually support a ban on information?
Jeeze….
#8 – Gosh, and the kid wasnât even a âfucking Xianâ. Will ownders never cease!
No… He was a “fucking idiot”. Not unlike a few of our occasionally visiting Internet trolls like the one guy and the other one and James Hill.
(okay James… that was too low even if it was about you…. sorry….)
Didn’t Micheal Moore teach us that the reason we have school shootings was because of our weak gun control laws?
#16 – Yes, It is a country. It once was the economic center of Europe when in the late ’50s is was the sole supplier of over-sized tail fins that American cars used. The most famous was the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado which consumed mass quantities of tail finage from Finland.

No.
Try watching the documentary if you want to know.
#17 – Didn’t get my sarcasm either… duh.
Gun control laws are impractical where you have a deranged mentality and twisted motivation. Who was living with and caring for this young man? What responsibilities did parents fail to execute? It is the social harmonizing factors that are lacking. Isolated, withdrawn, paranoid-thinking….lack of social and emotional support, are the causal factors.
