Download details: Visual Basic .NET Language Specification — I got this letter from a reader. I tried it, and he’s right. BUT note the browser has to be set at full screen, not reduced.

John,

Have you seen this??

A link to download vb.net specifications.

Try it in Firefox. When you click on the download button, it actually scoots to the right offscreen. Scroll to the right, click, it scoots again. You have to click it a few times to catch it.

I have seen these joke buttons before, but from Microsoft? When you are trying to download documentation in “the enemy” browser??

  1. Bryan says:

    Hahaha.

The button “scoots” for me, but I don’t have the browser full screen.

Just a regular window, using Firefox 1.0

This is like when Microsoft.com “broke” MSN when using Opera
    (http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/en/2001/11/20011101.dml)

  2. Greg K. says:

Works for me, regardless of whether Firefox is maximized, full-screen, or normal. Only moves once too. Can’t believe I wasted time on this.

  3. Fábio C. Martins says:

When I write pages, this sometimes happens in Mozilla/FireFox too. I think that’s a bug in those navigators and a hard one to detect too.

  4. I tried it, but now I have a downloaded program I don’t need. It didn’t scoot for me, and I am using FireFox.

  5. Jack Smithee says:

It scoots right off the screen for me. Firefox 1.0, no recent updates. Hilarious.

  6. Scotty says:

    tried in Firefox 1.0 windows
    Mozilla 1.7 windows
    and Firefox 1.0 on linux.

It scooted in all three. It doesn’t need to be maximized, but the width of your browser window has to be at least 800 pixels or so. Don’t know what that would be the case…

  7. Thomas says:

Wait, I know, it’s a sign that VBonics is possessed! ;->
