In the programme, an Anglican priest will perform the exorcism on the man in a television studio. He will be wired to brain-scanning equipment and monitored throughout. The priest is understood to have been practising what he calls “deliverance” for several years and the subject of the exorcism has been consulting him for some time over the possession by evil spirits.

  1. Ima Fish says:

I’d hate to be known as the guy who performs “deliverance” on other men.

  2. Jim says:

These kind of things seem to work better when done in private.
If it’s a secret, it’s binding. Watching is part of a good play.

  3. Greg K. says:

Jeez, you REALLY should be a tabloid reporter.

  4. K B says:

“This isn’t just a man we’ve pulled off the streets – he is somebody the priest has been working with for years and it will be a proper scientific experiment monitored by a leading neuroscientist,” a Channel 4 spokesman said.

OK, I confess I am ignorant on the topic. But why would you leave demons inside someone for years before casting them out? Am I misunderstanding this?

  5. site admin says:

Agh! Now that you mention it I saw the Larson act myself. Dreadful.

  6. Hank says:

Sorry to exorcise (pun intended) a bad memory from you.

What was so obvious was that Bob Larson was steering the poor woman around — like he was using his own baby talk when he wanted her to speak like a baby.

He also exorcised some poor man, too. I felt especially sorry for him since he had a “demon” of pornography, if I remember correctly. I wondered how he could show up for work the next day!

  7. Thomas says:

Exocism would be a fat load of bullshit. If this bozo can A: prove there are demons and B: prove he can remove said demons, then I recommend he take up James Randi’s million dollar challenge at the same time. Just think, he could do an exocism on TV and donate a million dollars to charity all in the same night.
