Three Mexican minors detained in California on suspicion of smuggling drugs stole a U.S. Border Patrol car while still wearing handcuffs and drove it back across the border to Mexico.
A Border Patrol agent…had handcuffed them and put them in his patrol car while he searched their truck.
“As the agent was doing his search, he left the vehicle running and the keys in the ignition, so one of the lads, still wearing handcuffs, grabbed the steering wheel and they headed back to Mexico,” a police spokesman said.
Mexican police used a helicopter to locate the patrol vehicle in a remote agricultural area near the border.
I think they gave it back.
That is why the Mexicans don’t ave an Olympic team, everyone who can jump, run, swim or drive a border patrol truck is already in the States.
When we were high school kids on Halloween, we were egging cars and hit a cop!
A sheriff returned and came down on us fast with lights off. We all scattered with me diving into a bush.
The sheriff went on a foot pursuit after the to others, leaving his car, running, doors open, with the keys and and a shotgun inside! I was just feet away in a bush.
For one split second, I thought about taking it.
I was dumb enough to egg cars but but not quite dumb enough to steal a cop car.
They must have found a gate in that border fence……doh!
“I think they gave it back.”
And if the Mexicans decided not to give it back, just what would the United States of America do about it? Huh?

That’s one way to make sure the illegals get back to Mexico. I think the next amendment will be to let them keep the car while they apply for citizenship.

Nice to see kids being proactive …. Mexico must be doing something right…. Do the police drive automatics in the US then? I suppose they must…. surely you couldn’t drive stick shift with handcuffs on….
… but surely the police wouldn’t use an automatic…. wouldn’t they want the extra control a manual gives?

This all came about with the advent of female beat officers, women can’t drive stick shift.
I am quite sure most British and European police officers drive stick…. in Europe automatics are very rare (in France they are only used by disabled people….) and only come on very high end cars (or Japanese imports).

Yeah, well, I can guarantee you they know how to use sticks (as in batons), so if I was you, I’d keep that opinion to myself in real life.
