    Hillarious!!!

And the APEC Security Chief didnt find it funny – because its his ass on the line now – rofl THAT funny!!!

  2. jlm says:

I love how they tried to say it was not a security breach…good to see the US is not the only delusional country

  3. Janky-o says:

LOL. Paraphrase: “It was not a security breach, and it wasn’t funny, and I’m proud of those officers arresting a guy dressed like Osama when he finally got out of the car and showed himself. I’ll make it hard for the people who pointed out the lack of security rather than the people responsible for the lack of security (wait, that’s me!). Oh, and I’m a doofus.”

  4. DavidtheDuke says:

for 160 million dollars you’d think they’d at least TRY to have lock tight security

  5. JPV says:

Is this the same fake Bin Laden that just released a new video tape?

  6. TIHZ_HO says:

New CCTV security cameras were installed along the harbour bridge in Sydney…

Bin Ladin, Ben Liden, …it’s Bin Laden for fucks sacke! Or FBL, Fake Bin Laden.

  9. TIHZ_HO says:

#9 Ok Marc, if you want to be anal about this Its actually Osama bin Muhammad bin ‘Awad bin Laden or Osama bin Laden or Usama bin Laden

Strictly speaking, under Arabic linguistic conventions, it is incorrect to use “bin Laden” in a similar manner as a Western surname. His full name means “Osama, son of Mohammed, son of ‘Awad, son of Laden”. However, the bin Laden family (or “Binladin”, as they prefer to be known) generally use the name as a surname in the Western style. Although Arabic conventions dictate that he be referred to as “Osama” or “Osama bin Laden”, using “bin Laden” is in accordance with the family’s own usage of the name and is the near-universal convention in Western references to him.

Note that the word “bin” is not capitalized – so at least get that part right.

    Cheers 😀

It’s not such a shock. Years ago while working on a federal construction contract on an airforce base I flashed a baseball card at the gate and gained admission.

You couldn’t do that today however, things have tightened up quite a bit on airforce bases.

  11. TIHZ_HO says:

#11 😆 You must have at least looked like the player on the card – so that was understandable, right?

    Cheers

  12. TIHZ_HO says:

    #8 Jägermeister – Brilliant!! 😆 I hadn’t seen that one!!

    Cheers

  13. KVolk says:

    Isn’t it Osama bin Hiden?

  14. Was that Cliff from Cheers???

  15. pjakobs says:

hmm… why would you arrest a fake Osama bin Laden?
Is there a law that allows arresting a fake for the doings of the real?

The Chasers are fantastic. How they have the balls to do some of the stunts is quite beyond me.

  17. Dallas says:

Nuclear tipped bombers flying around the country and Bin Laden motorcades approaching the highest security zone.

    Gee, I really feel safe.

In other news, I can’t wait for Bin Laden’s music video next week. I bet it will just overwhelm anything from Justin Timberlake.

    Ever watched Balls of Steel?

  19. TIHZ_HO says:

#19 No I can’t get that in China usually TV show series come bundled in a per season DVD set but I’ve never seen Balls of Steel 🙁

http://tinyurl.com/2spave (I gotta do this in China!)

Boxed DVD sets are how people like me watch TV shows in China. There is no other alternative so this is how it works:

1/ Someone in the US/Canada/UK records the show and uploads it to the Internet.

2/ Someone in China downloads the best copy of each episode of the show.

3/ Someone in China burns a set of DVDs usually 7 or 8 discs fully printed and boxed very nicely.

4/ Buy a season at your local neighbourhood DVD shop for about $8.

Ok you are a season behind but you at least you get to watch it and you don’t have to find the time to muck about downloading.

We expats see this as a public service really. Not too many Chinese get into all the series that are available – they don’t understand it much as I can tell like the Sopranos, LOST, Little Britain, Family Guy, The Simpsons and so on. Other series like Friends, CSI, 24, Sex and the City and so on don’t require much brain work to understand so they are watched by all.

    Cheers

I dare you doing that In China… with anti-gov slogans! 😉

I understand what you’re talking about. But I have a hard time to accept that they’re actually making money off selling it.

  21. TIHZ_HO says:

#21 – I will agree with that! There are limits! 😆

I was thinking all English – like the video!

Its funny that if you or I had 2 years of French or Italian in High School we would still be able to say some basic things if we ever needed to, right?

Here, Chinese have to take English (by law and it is UK English too) from primary school all the way through to High School and then in University they must pass an English intermediate level fluency test (CET Band 4 ) to graduate. However anywhere you go in China it is hard to find anyone who can even put two words together!! Shanghai is better – but not by much!

This is the reason I would use English (UK) ‘terms’ knowing that the chances are no one would even know what these ‘terms’ mean! I am like that. My wife and I like to ride our bikes here and I have a very loud air horn on mine…gets attention and stops that bus cutting me off as they think WTF, what didn’t I see? That’s the American in me! 😉

For the DVDs the guy selling them makes about 30-50% and the distributor makes about the same. So you can figure the unit cost to make them – only cents per disc.

I don’t know how to post a pic in comments (I suck with HTML) as I could show how good the packaging is for these – better than what you would buy in the US I think. Like my HBO Band of Brothers is in a canvas Army ‘ammo’ bag with 101st Airborne shoulder patches, Army switch blade knife, dogtags, maps, booklet and other items for $35 . Goes to show how much goes to royalties. (I am such a criminal – how can I sleep at night?)

    Cheers

New Osama video seems yet another forgery. Everyone needs Osama alive:
terrorists as symbolic leader and the US Administration – to avoid
scaling down the war on terror.
Obadiah Shoher rightly notes ( http://tinyurl.com/2h2p5b ) that new Osama talks like a leftist university professor. I like Shoher’s
analysis. No way a terrorist leader like Osama would use a speechwriter. Osama is famous for his rhetoric.
Also, in the tape Osama both threatens America with attack (by “proving” Americans polytheists) and offers (yet another time)
    long-term coaching in Islam.
But his dyed beard makes me cautious. Islam’s mujahedeen dye their beards before battle.

  23. Andy says:

Ok Mr David Campbell, I’ve listened to what you have to say, but to me it just sounds like this:

Whaaaaa! We wanted to discuss our plans to further erode national sovereignty and increase corporate power in peace, Boo-hoo-hoo, and we tried our hardest to stamp on peoples free speech so we wouldn’t have to see people who can’t stand to have that war-mongering bastard in our country, Ahaa, haa haauur and you insisted on making us look at your protests, Waaa, waah, now we will be forced to up the police state even further just to keep us safe from the general public, sob sob sob.

Hello – I am the owner of the Osama Family website http://www.saudi-binladin-group.com…. The news this week announced that the Binladin family has dissociated itself from the Osama. Strangely enough the Binladin family website expired on the very same day which their estranged son and brother attacked the united stated. This family’s website expired on 9-11-01 – the same day of the US terrorist attacks. Proof and facts are at saudi-binladin-group.com…. This can also be proved from various online articles (including Wired Magazine) , discussion groups and research tools such as dialog.com. This is a little known bit in the media, but is very verifiable and is a fascinating and rarely documented part of the 9/11 story. Moreover, over the last several years, I have placed an email server which has harvested megabytes worth of email intended for Binladin brothers, corporate correspondences and even strange “Osama fan letters. I dont feel that the website was a “countdown” as some have speculated in other news groups – however, I feel it is an interesting and weird coincedence in the many stories that make up 9-11 and the Binladin family.
