Would you buy a cookie from her?

A former Girl Scout leader in Pea Ridge was arrested Tuesday after a federal grand jury charged her with stealing the identities of girls in her troop.

The indictment charges Holly M. Barnes with 19 counts of filing false claims and 15 counts of identity theft, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office in Pensacola.

She obtained over $87,000 from the IRS after filing claims totaling over $187,000, according to the release.

Higgins said Barnes created a batch of fraudulent forms “under the guise of a permission slip” for an upcoming field trip and used them to harvest the scouts’ birth dates and Social Security numbers.

Of course, the IRS was really on their toes. A tipoff from a suspicious parent – to the sheriff – got this lowlife investigated and arrested.

There actually are government cultures where a “bureaucrat” can be respected for the job they perform. Just not within the boundaries of this nation – anytime soon.

A piece of paper, properly filled-out, is the accepted definition of reality in DC.

She’ll be tossing a few cookies once she’s in prison.

You’ve got to be careful with your information these days, and be checking your credit yearly, to stop this shit. The government has completely failed in this regard (not that its a first, or anything).

Why would a girl scout leader need a Social security number for a permission slip to go on a field trip.

May god may mercy on her soul, because I sure the eff won’t. I have no sympathy for anyone caught stealing identities.
