The problem for most stodgy Americans is – which religion he teaches.

Elwood “Bunky” Bartlett says a New Age book store made it possible for him to become an overnight multimillionaire.

He and his wife, Denise, were on their way to the shop where he occasionally teaches Wicca and Reiki healing when they stopped at a liquor store and bought two $5 Mega Millions tickets for Friday night’s estimated $330 million jackpot. One of his tickets was a winner.

Bartlett, an accountant from Dundalk, said he made a bargain with the multiple gods associated with his Wiccan beliefs: “You let me win the lottery and I’ll teach.”

Bartlett said the money won’t change him, although he plans to invest in the shop – Mystickal Voyage. “I’m going to live my life like I have been,” he said.

Tee hee.

Thanks, KB

Some people just like to say non sequitur. Usually when they don’t have an adequate retort it works for the (“dweebs?), finishing the argument.

Whom gods destroy they first…. make very fat and very rich, and then comes the heart-attack! Bet there’s going to be a line-up to be in his Will, real soon. BTW, I only bet one dollar (this one time) on this, because I only have the one God.

Ah, now that works, Mr. Meister. He does kinda look like Michael Moore’s brother. I wonder what his position is on global warming and single-payer health insurance.

    He’s the cause of it… 😉

These lottery winners often say they are going to keep working but I wonder how many really do.

I have to say, it would be very tempting to put up with the crap of most jobs if you didn’t really need the paycheck.

If I suddenly come into millions and millions of dollars I will stay true to my faith and continue to do what I’ve always been doing. I am not just saying that, I am willing to put it to the test if anyone wants to see proof…. just send the millions and millions to:

If I won 70mil… Not only would I not continue working this job, I wouldn’t even tell my job I was leaving. I’d simply stop showing up and let them figure it out.

I would, however, start my own business because the thought of not working is pretty unappealing actually.

“He would be extremely lucky if he hit it one more time. Anyway, the invisible dude must have had something against all the other players…”

In the case of Wicca, I think the “invisible dude” might just be an “invisible babe” i.e. Gaea or Mother Nature.

Then again, I could be wrong.

  10. Silver says:

It’s actually basic. I was Wiccan before he won I will be wiccan after as well. Most believe in more than one god and a goddess. Not just an “invisible babe”. But you are right on the names. : ) The person who posted that all you need to do is change the words was right. It’s really no different than a christians version of prayer, only more physical activity. My opinion is that just because one wiccan won the lottery doesn’t mean that thousands need to be switching to a religion they don’t understand. Look at how many Christians and Athiests win comparatively. Stick to what works for you.

Are you sure you gave proper consideration to what it means to retire with enough money? Whatever you love to do, you can afford to do. I’m thinking about 3 months a year just on safari. Other entertainment as I think of it.

    More power to him.

There isn’t a single problem (other than death) that money cannot solve. If he truly means to not live differently, and make the correct choices, I’m sure he will have a wonderful life.

    Gratz!!

I Have to learn more advance HTML coding so I can do those embedded links and post pics etc.
