GEORGIA – Gwinnett officials placed a 17-year-old youth in jail on Friday when the boy refused to accept treatment for tuberculosis.

Officials say when doctors told Francisco Santos he had tuberculosis, Santos said he was walking out of the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville and heading back to his home country of Mexico.

Santos is the only inmate in a special medical isolation cell designed for inmates with contagious conditions.

Now the real work begins – tracking down folks who had contact with Santos.

  1. moss says:

Gee. I wonder if he processed chickens in one of Frank Perdue’s immaculate factories?

  2. ECA says:

Where ELSE are they going to put this person, so he dont Infect OTHERS along his way home.

  3. John Benson says:

Santos said he was walking out of the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville and heading back to his home country of Mexico.

That’s a long walk from Atlanta to Mexico. TB is contagious. The boy would have come in contact with a lot of people on his trip home. Looks like the government officials made the right call.

I agee on that, and this time they got him before he escaped through Canada like that other one did.

  5. Mr. Fusion says:

Good call. Stupid kid, almost missed out on some free health care.

  6. tikiloungelizard says:

This is one of those things that people forget about when they rail against “socialized medicine”. When truly sick people can’t afford basic treatment, they go without treatment, until their possibly communicable disease gets out of control. Do you want to be in the elevator with the person who is coughing TB on you, or with the first few people who have SARS or bird flu?

  7. nightstar says:

#4 Tricky Mexican, taking the long route home through Canada. No wonder American border security is so poor. These Mexican teenagers are diabolical.

  8. nightstar says:

#6 It’s a shame you have to go to jail in America to receive public health care. It seems this fellow got a private room too ^^

  9. anonymous says:

This is OUTRAGEOUS. Not only are we suppossed to PAY THE MEDICAL BILLS of half of Mexico, but now we are SUPPOSED TO JUST BE EXPOSED TO TUBERCULOSIS, AND PASS IT ALL OFF AS NOTHING —- all in the name of ROTTEN ‘DIVERSITY’.

The city of Lawrenceville needs to get about 100 VORACIOUSLY ANGRY people AND THEIR LAWYERS to sue INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY IN ALL POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS over this. EVERY SINGLE U.S. CITIZEN who came in contact with the kid should JOIN THE LAWSUIT.

When the CITIES get SUED, OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER for NEGLIGENCE, thhey will not get the message that OUR COUNTRY IS FOR AMERICANS FIRST !!!! that means NO MORE MEXICANS !!!!!!!!!! Send the f*cking kid packing and send Mexico the BILL for the medical bill!!!!!!!!

  10. VIVA LA DEPORTACION !!!!!

Look how mad everyone was about that stupid Atlanta lawyer who also had TB, and potentially exposed everyone on a flight.

Throw the kid in solitary confinement for 50 years along with the unabomber. While you’re at it, throw the selfish scumbag lawyer in there too. Maybe the kid caught it from the lawyer!

  11. Nah, the kid probably didn’t process any chicken. If he did, he would have caught the BIRD FLU, ****FROM**** the friggin’ chicken!

NAH…….He was probably the one making burgers all day long at McDonalds, sneezing in the meat, coughing all over the buns, and handling the fries without washing his hands after going to the bathroom. What are the odds that this kid has worked in food service to hundreds of customers? 80%? 90%?

But that’s just a wild guess….. After all, the AMERICAN KIDS that I see
are probably doing a lot of that crap too….

This country is going to hell if we don’t start DEPORTING THE BASTARDS !
