A Memphis, Tenn., man is in critical condition Wednesday after his dog shot him in the back. Police say King George, a 150-pound Great Dane, accidentally knocked a .22-caliber pistol off his owner’s end table around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The gun went off, hitting his 21-year-old owner in the back, MyFOXMemphis.com reports.
“I knew he was smart, I didn’t think he was that smart,” the victim’s fiancee, Miesha Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com. “He was always protective. I didn’t think he would be like that.”
Can you believe that? She thought the dog did it on purpose!
I guess the moral to this story is: Don’t leave loaded guns laying around. You never know what could happen. |
Scooby Dooby Doh!
Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com that she fears what her fiance will do to the pet once he gets out of the hospital.
I’d be more worried about what the dog will do to the fiance. Obviously the dog holds a grudge and obviously he’s not afraid to use a gun to settle differences.
I can’t stop laughing…
Too bad Vick’s dogs weren’t packing!
Too many rednecks, too few smart dogs…
That’s what the owner gets for messing with King George’s girl.

Here’s some gun stats from 2001 (includes accidents) in the US. It sure is a way to keep the population down and I’m so glad I don’t live anywhere near the US:
