That guy is very fortunate.
Happens all the time in golf.
He wouldn’t have been decapitated. Bruises, yes, broken neck, maybe, but his head would not have been separated from his body. There is just not enough inertia for that board to push through.
Watch the Mythbusters… even a metal ceiling fan hooked up to a lawn mower would not decapitate you.
