Hippies…man, they are everywhere…even in the future.

  2. Libertican says:

If I see or hear a reference to “a conversation” in the context of politically communicating to the masses again, I will scream. Please start the conversation.

  3. John says:

That is the most annoying background sound in a video ever.

  4. Improbus says:

I hate that touchy feely crap. But then again I am a Cranky Geek.

  5. Dallas says:

Great post – very insightful. Too bad it went over other viewers heads.

The scary part is that while other nations leaders comprehend the “logarithmic changes” occuring, we are stuck with George W Dufus at the steering wheel.

  6. moss says:

    I agree with #4.

The first political candidate I worked for – back in the day – told me his first responsibility after being elected was to be re-elected. That hasn’t changed at all.

Maybe something other than elections will begin to produce change.

  7. Sea Lawyer says:

I want to rip my ears off after listening to that music on repeat. This video is like the intro to “True Stories” only too long and not as cool (if David Byrne is cool).

  8. dwright says:

Could they remind me one more friggin time which century we are in?
All I ever did was learn, study, work and keep at it for all these years, all within the context of never thinking about where I am in time. And no, I don’t feel like having a dialog with a group of people about it.

  9. Epcot Center says:

What you got against the background music?

  10. JimR says:

    I’m with #5.

…and they should do a documentary for TV on that topic.

  11. tallwookie says:

    LOL #5 – too true, too true…

THe background music sounds very “final-fantasy”-ish… to me anyway

  12. Cursor_ says:

My issue was with the amount of children that have used computers.

I will give them the point they mean personal computers. But truly if we take in machines that compute, kids have been using the abacus for thousands of years, the manual cash register and calculator for a century and the digital calcualtor and computer ATM for nearly 40 years.

Then add that to the fact each of us is BORN with a computer in our heads and most everyone is pretty much computer centric. That is why when I hear idiots say I don’t know how to use a computer I want to strangle them.

It is these broad statistics that make people zone out or panic when they see them. To me there is nothing new on planet earth, just different ways to get the same shit done. And in the case of some new technologies the method of getting things done is more labour intensive than in years past.

  13. hhopper says:

The original video was different before the Xplane folks spiffed it up.

  14. tallwookie says:

#11 – if we’re all “BORN with a computer in our heads”, does that mean that morons have a lower Front Side Bus than the rest of us?

  15. cool tidbits says:

    Message to the world:
Stop having so damn many kids!

  16. Stefan says:

Stopped watching after “the average 21 year old will have received/sent 250.000 emails/instant messages”… Wondering out of which body opening they pulled some of the numbers.

  17. Mr. Fusion says:

Well I got about half way through before that music had nauseated me too much.

    So what was the point?
