A Houston woman is suing a former high school classmate who took her name and starred in pornographic movies.
Kristen Syvette Wimberly, 25, is asking that Lara Madden and film distributor Vivid Entertainment Group stop using or publicizing her name, which Madden took as a stage name.
The two met in ninth grade at Kingwood High School. According to the lawsuit, they “were friends but eventually that friendship ended due to conflict.”
Madden, 25, began her adult-film career in 2004 and has appeared in about a dozen adult films using the name Syvette Wimberly.
As a result, the lawsuit claims, Madden and the distributor have inflicted “humiliation, embarrassment, loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress, mental anguish and anxiety.”
Sometimes paybacks can be a bitch.
Unless the porn star (?) is actually trying to pass herself off as the complainer, I don’t see the case.
Funny, I was thinking of beginning my port career as John C. Dvorak.

I think, as a result of the lawsuit claims, Kristen Syvette Wimberly has inflicted “humiliation, embarrassment, loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress, mental anguish and anxiety.” on herself.
If she were somehow able to arrange to receive any proceeds from the use of her name without actually having to do any of the actual wet work, that would be fitting, don’t you think?
Maybe there were some dudes talking to her things like “Hey! Are you that hot porn star? Oh my you do look uglier in person.”
Interesting… copyright on names. There might be a lot of money awaiting John Smith!!

But I bet you’re more than just black and hard.
As long as no one uses my name as an alias while being a drug dealer, causing a case of mistaken identity where I get pulled over by the fuzz and dragged out of a car at gunpoint, or otherwise REALLY trashing my good name locally (could care less about the other guy with my name in Florida, unless it causes me to fail an employment check), or otherwise causes confusion so that my life is less enjoyable and… crap, I guess I do care about my name.
Here’s the kicker…that porn star quit doing porn a few years ago and no one even noticed. This lady brings up the lawsuit and now EVERYONE knows her name.
Holy Crap, that’s the high school I went to. I don’t think there were any future porn stars in my class. I am a little bit older than these two. What’s funny is that its a very upper class, conservative, suburban neighborhood. I should ask my younger sister if she knows these two. This is TOO funny.
I think it is time to get this blog going again and using this topic. i am anxious to find out if this has gone to court yet or not. never heard a followup on this case. Only news flying around is that she is married to a CIA Officer. So it would be interesting to see if she gets off of all charges. Laura Madden, married to Alan Premel, former CIA Clandestine officer.
