Pacific islands look to coconut oil as energy saviour — Maybe we can use this idea to get rid of the soybean and canola oil too.
About 100 private buses in Vanuatu’s capital of Port Vila are powered at least in part by coconut oil as are similar vehicles in the Marshall Islands, officials said.
In addition to reducing dependency on foreign petroleum, coconut oil offers several additional advantages, they said.

most diesel engines will run just fine on most vegetable oils, the question is, how much land has to be given over to vegetable oil production in order to replace Arabia’s oil fields?

Here in Brazil we’ll start to add 2% of vegetal diesel in the regular diesel. Whe already put up to 25% of alcohol in gas for. This been going for several years now.
We used to depend of foreigner oil but we’re almost self-sufficient now.
I think that kind of stuff is great, they help to reduce pollution and help our farmers, plus we don’t have to invade other countries or worry about terrorists.
